Cant wait to go back!
Our first time in Fiji and we went there for my 40th Birthday with my wife and 2 kids (13 and 8) as well as another family of 2 adults, 14, 12 and 8 year old. Check-in was a bit slow after our early morning flight and bit of a bus trip on an older bumpy bus. The checkin lady advised us that our room was not ready, however our friends room was ready (same room type - garden Bure with personal butler next to each other). Our checkin agent did not provide much details of the resport, and gave us the wrong activities guide (expired), however our friends received all the necessary information from their checkin clerk, so we were ok. So we got all our luggage to our friends bure and our butler welcomed us, provided a welcome drink. We went to explore the resort and the butler unpacked all the luggage for our friends and also ours as our room was available by the time we got back. The staff at the resort were amazing and within a few hours they all remembered our names and by day 2 remembered our regular drink orders and the kids lunch orders! The bar staff were amazing and would great us each day even when walking past the pool with a huge BULA! They would even come and let us know Happy Hour was about to start! We had some amazing experiences meeting the Manager of the resort and other department managers who made sure we were having a great time. The head of Housekeeping also found one of the kids missing blanky which was caught up in the laundry and quickly returned it to us.
A great self contained place to relax!
With a number of restaurants, activities, pool and beach. This is a great place to relax and unwind. There is a spa nearby as well. Night snorkeling as well as day and numerous activities for the kids. The grounds are immaculate and wonderfully landscaped with a small brook running through the property showing many water lilies. The property is cashless, in other words, everything can be charged to your room and you settle up when you leave.
Pleasant stay but not 5*
We stayed for a week for a friend’s wedding. Staff: fabulous! Nothing was too much trouble, so friendly and happy. Every single staff member provided fabulous service. Accommodation: We accepted a quite cheap upgrade to a Plantation Bure and found it comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The shower could do with an upgrade though. Not impressed with the toiletries, not the quality of Pure Fiji that you usually get in quality hotels in Fiji. Towels were changed every day but the sheets were never changed and often our room was not made up until after 430pm. Food: Very expensive, especially as the quality was not the best. Buffets were very average, the Sundowner grill was much better but even with half board vouchers you had to pay extra. In fact for those trying to stay within budget it was annoying to have the buffet closed for 3 of the 6 nights we were there. If you say you are 5* you need to provide quality food to match. Few healthy options for breakfast, mostly fried/sugary/high carb food. Much preferred the breakfast at the adult’s pool. Note if you walk along the small beach and head inland at the crab shack you will find a couple of cheaper and better quality restaurants. Grounds: fabulous and beautifully maintained. Pools were lovely. I can see the attraction for families as the main pool is huge. Activities: lots to do, especially for young families. Public areas: looking very run down and tired, much of the furniture is very sad. Spa: Also fabulous with a stunning view. A massage was included in our booking otherwise I doubt we would have tried it due to cost My main disappointment was we paid 5 star prices but only received at most a 4 star holiday. I expect to get what I pay for and it doesn’t have to be 5 star, just cost should equal what is provided. Outrigger is definitely more for family holidays.
Tired resort but so family friendly and they make a huge effort
As the title says the resort is tired and I would say it’s 5 star by any means . BUT for our family it was perfect & we will be back . For our children 3yrs and 8 months the pool was perfect shallow parts for the kids to explore and play, and the big pool when the older one felt more adventurous . The nanny service was amazing especially Dee we will be back for her alone . The kids club was fantastic my daughter begged to go most days. This allowed me and my husband some me time . I’m a nervous mum as a SAHM I wasn’t sure could I leave my babies and would they enjoy it but they were so well looked after so I let go of my helicopter parenting and had the best time of family and adult time. The buffet restaurant is lacking in my opinion , and he other restaurants are $$ but great you can take food home when the kids get tired or become crazy .the pizza are good and the adult only restaurants were very good . Most of the staff were fantastic and so welcoming . The Fiji people are some of the best I’ve seen and met and we have travelled a bit. The spa was amazing , adult pool felt like heaven and cleaning staff couldn’t do enough And the evening butler service was fantastic and felt like a treat . Rosa our butler was fantastic. All up if you want 5 star maybe go somewhere else but if you want a great wholesome family experience and to dip your toe into life into adult time this isn the place. We have been to 5 star in Fiji with our daughter before and still would choose this resort over it for all the small things that make a big impact on a family holiday . The beach is not great , but the pool is great for the kids. And adult pool is relaxing. Fijians are fantastic with children this resort lives up to that stereotype. We will be back when this horrible virus passes.
Great for family
Loved the experience, friendly & understanding staff especially when u have kids & nothing goes as planned. We celebrated our daughter's birthday. I managed to order fruit cake at the resort & it was lovely. Simple yet tasty and not too pricey. Appreciate the staffs understanding to allow us to take dinner in our room as our birthday girl fell asleep at the dinning table. They even prepared my daughter's favorite (boiled egg & chips) which was not on their menu. Heartfelt thank you to the staffs. Pool design is unique & my kid loved it. Kids club got activities, sand box, slide, monkey swing, books and TV. The variety keeps them entertained. Buffet dinner with meke performance should not be missed. Very entertaining & food is lovely. Even buffet breakfast is different everyday thus you wont get bored. The whole experience was superb & would definitely be coming again.
