Get back to nature while listening to spiritual stories and learning about local monasteries. The Paštrovići is a historical tribe and region in Montenegro. On this hiking tour, you’ll explore some of the stunning landscapes and soak up the views of the Budva Riviera. We’ll visit a few of the monasteries of the Pastrovici tribe, and discover how a one-armed friar built a three-kilometre-long stony footpath to connect Paštrovići’s coast and mountains – Jegor’s path is named after him. Highlights of the tour include the Rustovo monastery, the tiny villages of Čelobrdo and Ograđenica, and beachside Kamenovo. The Wines of Montenegro, Tivat

For wine lovers, it doesn’t get much better than touring several of Montenegro’s top-notch wineries. The country’s grape-growing tradition dates back to the 2nd century AD, so there’s plenty of experience and expertise here. You’ll gain behind-the-scenes access to the professional side of the wine business and will be introduced to the process of wine production. We’ll also visit Montenegro’s biggest vineyard. The highlight, of course, is the wine tasting: you’ll get to compare the modern and traditional methods of wine production and see if you can taste the difference between the two. Traditional Montenegro, Tivat

Leave seaside villages behind and escape to a rural eco-village. This family-guided tour will give you an insight into how people used to live in a traditional Montenegrin village on the coast. Here, you can experience the everyday life on the farm and you’re invited to get hands-on – there are animals to feed and cows to milk. You’ll be warmly welcomed on the ‘guvno’ (a gathering place where grain was once threshed) with a drink and priganica (small fried balls of yeast dough, typically served with honey). In a small smokehouse, you’ll see homemade ham, sausages and smoked bacon, while the cellar stores schnapps and wine. The family even has its own little church and they will share some interesting stories with you about its past. Lunch will be an organic feast of the foods you have seen: smoked ham, sausages and traditional cheeses, plus fresh salad and vegetables from the garden.
