I had a very pleasant stay, with kudos to the excellent housekeeping, concierge (particularly Yara), and the F&B outlets (Aura, Le Gourmandise, Char Bar and Tea Lounge for breakfast). My room was upgraded upon check in and was glad that my request for a view of the Nile was accommodated. Also, the extra security precautions taken at the property were appreciated. However, compared to my previous stays at FS Buenos Aires, Istanbul Bosphorous, and Marrakech, which were all flawless, there is a little bit of inconsistency and polish. For example, I left the room service tray outside my room one evening and it was still there when I woke up the next morning. The check out was disappointing as the person I was dealing with just walked away while he was processing my check out without letting me know what happened. I did receive a note from the hotel to thank me for filling out the survey and I responded with the same comments I noted above more than a month ago, and to this day, I have not received an acknowledgement.
Wonderful treat for a traveler!
The First Residence is elegant, the Service top notch and our room was spacious and spotless. It did include one of our priority items -- TWO good reading chairs! And, of course, there was a view of the Nile. Excellent in every way, including the fabulous flower arrangements in the lobby and the breakfast boxes when we had to leave for a flight at a dreadfully early hour. Food in the restaurants was very good, and they have a lovely pool, though we didn't get to try it. We were with a tour group, but treated like royalty.
Excellent hotel from a service standpoint. We did have a bit of a hassle after check in about leaving a credit card on file. They could not seem to get the machine to work despite trying several times. The area is not great, but there are police on the street. The room was beautiful, a bit shabby bit it is Egypt and expectations are lower than in Europe or the US. We at in the Aura restaurant once and then the next door mall and both meals were good. The breakfast was amazing, I only wish that we had not had such an early flight the departing morning and missed it for that day. I would definitely stay here if I were in Cairo again.
Such a treat!
The level of luxury, outstanding service, and excellent food will be the measure to which I compare hotels going forward. It was a pleasure and I hope to revisit it. From the moment I opened the drapes in my room to see both the pyramids at Giza and the amazing number of beautiful birds in the tree canopy at the zoo across the street, I was thrilled.
Every detail is impeccable at this hotel. The staff was professional and pleasant. Every square inch of the hotel and room was spotless. Walk in my distance to floating restaurants and the zoo. The hotel is attached to a high end mall. Every need will be met here.
