Connect with nature at this charming Andean wellness sanctuary.

Experience healing treatments and activities inspired by Andean culture and traditions at this welcoming lodge which is just 20 minutes from the market town of Otavalo. Its name means ‘my beloved mountain’ in the local Quechua language and the setting is spectacular – the views over San Pablo Lake and Imbabura Volcano will take your breath away. Every aspect of the design has been carefully considered, from the feng-shui inspired curved architecture to the green roofs that blend with the rolling hills and help reduce C02 emissions. Relax in a hammock on one of the lawned roofs, meditate in the gardens, boost your energy with a bounce on the trampoline or detoxify with a spot of hydrotherapy in the icy plunge pool and the inviting Jacuzzi.

The lodge offers wellness packages ranging from one to four days. You could start your day with a morning yoga class, unwind during a restorative massage and enjoy a traditional cooking ritual before listening to folk legends around the bonfire. The lodge can also arrange plenty of activities from visiting craft and food markets to hiking around crater lakes, rock climbing and horse riding. Nourish your body and soul during meal times with 180°-views of the lake and volcano, and Andean-fusion cuisine made with local produce such as quinoa, shrimp and cocoa. And many of the ingredients are from the lodge’s organic orchard and herb garden.

There are just 11 cosy and characterful rooms set on a hillside and each one has enchanting lake or volcano views. Traditional design elements such as 18th-Century wooden windows and colourful Andean rugs really set the scene while thoughtful touches such as hot water bottles in your bed make you feel at home.
