Excellent Hotel, Great service and personal attention from the management
Loved this hotel. It is well located in Old Town. We had 2 rooms and 5 people on the trip. The rooms were spacious, there was a great sitting area downstairs and a great upper lounge with a view of the city and Virgin Statue. The manager was great and present and took a personal interest in making sure that the stay was the best it could be. The breakfast was wonderful and they had tea, coffee and cookies in the afternoon. We really loved our stay here
What a beautiful hidden gem of a hotel and place to visit. The hotel had such character throughout and the staff were all so very friendly. Afternoon tea was served between 4-7pm everyday and was free which made a very pleasant social gathering to meet up with other travellers. Everything you needed was available. Would recommend this hotel to travellers visiting Quito
Charming oasis in a big city
La Casona de la Ronda is a charming, homey small hotel in Quito's old city. Although it is located on a historic street which can get busy at night, it is an oasis of calm. They serve tea/coffee with homemade cookies in the afternoon in the lounge where you can relax after a day of touring. There also is a top floor lounge with a beautiful view of the city.
Firstly the location is perfect to access the old town, plenty of warnings not to venture out after dark but we felt safe within the area. Charming reception area full of character and friendly staff. Room 12 was situated at the front with amazing views to the virgin of quito, some reviews mentioned noise from the street below but there are Windows and shutters to block it out, we never heard the street noise, also there are supplied ear plugs if needed. The restaurant is fairly decent if a little pricey but again staff are great. Glad we stayed for two nights would recommend.
Historical setting close to the central squares of Quito
The hotel is entered via an unassuming doorway off of La Ronda but opens into a large internal balconied courtyard with comfortable seating area and small covered area painted to be like the forest. The rooms are traditionally furnished, very spacious with huge comfortable beds, TV and wi fi. Bath room toiletries are very nice. Staff are very helpful. There is a pleasant breakfast buffet and the restaurant also serves dinner with a good choice of menu and wine. As an alternative the wine and cheese platter is good value.
