We stayed here for 2 nights when we arrived in Quito 8 days ago. It is a lovely building well renovated and in keeping with its style. Beautiful covered courtyard. Large comfortable sitting room with lots of sofas. All food excellent. Bedroom very comfortable with plenty of space and modern bathroom. Spotlessly clean. We stayed again for two nights on our early return home due to Coronavirus. Only a few guests trying to get home to Europe. The accommodation is as before but what really sets this place above others is it’s exceptional service all done with professionalism and a smile. We had to retrieve two pieces of luggage from Guayaquil 8 hours drive away due to the unexpected return home from the Galapagos. The owners have spent all day making this retrieval possible and helping with our onward travels, this is way beyond their normal remit. We can’t thank them enough for their unstinting help. Even before this we would have highly recommended them. This hotel is superb a must to stay in Quito. In the old town and walking distance to the centre. Thank you to everyone who looked after us do well.
Nice friendly boutique hotel

La Casona de la Ronda has best breakfast in town
La Casona de la Ronda is a bit of a walk from the old city, located on a street that is often difficult for taxis to get to. That was my problem. The driver was lost, trying to get here and I finally wound up walking to the hotel. I am a walker, so it wasn't a big deal walking into the old city and all that is available there. The hotel itself is beautiful and the room was very nice. The breakfast was fresh, delicious and plentiful. There are not many restaurants that are not touristy nearby, so plan on taking a taxi to get to the better restaurants. I stayed here on my first stay in Quito and Floresta on my second stay. I think that was a nice balance to see what the old and new cities are like. I think the hotel is on the more expensive side, but it was worth the money.
Excellent, charming, safe hotel in the heart of Quito
My teenage son and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our trip to Ecuador. It was clean, comfortable, charming, safe and exceeded our expectations, with luxury touches such as bathrobes and chocolates at turn-down. Staff was friendly and professional with excellent English. Breakfast was great; charming little room with a delicious buffet, as well as eggs or omelets cooked to order. We had dinner there one night as well, when we were too tired to go out; pizza and pasta were both very good. We were in room #5 which overlooked the busy "La Ronda" street and also had a view of the large Madonna of Quito statue on the hill. It was fun to watch all the pedestrians going by from our small balcony, and hear lively music on the weekend evenings. However, insulated windows and the A/C kept the noise from disturbing us at night. We also had the hotel book a driver to pick us up at the airport, since we were arriving from the US after midnight. He was very professional and courteous and spoke good basic English. He escorted us all the way inside, making sure we felt safe, and hotel staff came out to meet us and carry our bags up to our room. Excellent service and experience all around. Highly recommend!
We stayed here for three nights at the start of our Ecuador tour. The hotel was perfect for our needs, we had a big bedroom with a lovely bathroom overlooking an internal patio. As it was mid week the street was very quiet and we slept well. The staff were very helpful and we were so grateful that they carried our cases up to the top floor as we were suffering a little with altitude and found the stairs difficult. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice buffet and eggs cooked to order, the omelette was wonderful. In the afternoon tea, coffee and cake was complimentary in the lounge and it was nice to chat with other guests. I can highly recommend La Casona.
