Close to Cuanca centrol
It's close to the Churches and not to far to get back to this comfort of this Hotel. It's a very nice place to stay but not for a family on a budget. The cost for March 2020 is 75$ a night and rooms are out if this world.
Valuables stolen from locked room
Don’t make the same mistake I did. If you visit this hotel, please make sure you use the available safe in your room, and don’t leave any valuables in your luggage or anywhere else in your room. I stupidly left some cash in a sealed envelope, in a closed bag, in our locked room, as we went out to meet some friends. When we came back, our room had been cleaned and our beds made. I noticed right away that one of the zippers on my bag was only partially closed. When I went over to inspect, I saw that another zipper had been disturbed as well. I opened the bag and saw that it had been rummaged through. The envelope with the money was gone. I take full responsibility for not using the safe. A stupid mistake. However, when we reported the theft to hotel management, they refused to acknowledge that they have a problem. They first insinuated that I was lying, then pointed to the comprehensive waiver I’d signed when we checked in. Tip: Read the fine print, I didn’t. An apology from the hotel would have gone a long way. We never got one, instead we were subjected to stonewalling and finger pointing. Needless to say, we will not return.
My husband and I spent two nights here. The hotel is beautiful and very upscale looking. However, we had money stolen from our locked room when we went out to visit some friends. When we got back to our room, it had been cleaned and was locked. My husband noticed that the zipper on his backpack was partially open and when he looked in his bag, it had been rummaged through and the envelope where we’d kept our spending money was gone. Yes, my husband was stupid to leave the money in his bag and not use the room safe, but the hotel’s response was unacceptable. The management basically told us that it was our fault for not using the safe, refused to acknowledge that they had a thief on their staff, and didn’t even apologize. We will never be back.
We stayed here for two nights as part of our tour of Ecuador. The hotel is beautifully styled with a large patio restaurant area and a small lounge on the first floor. We had a bedroom in the attic with a sloping ceiling and beams. It was quite small and the bathroom was rather cramped but it did have charm and was adequate for our needs. It was since to return in the afternoon and have complimentary tea and coffee. We went for a drink in the small bar, sadly the service was very poor and the waiter more interested in watching the football than serving us, we had to ask twice for our drinks and when they arrived they were wrong. Dinner was very nice in the evening but it was very cold despite a patio heater being moved between tables and we were glad to get back to our bedroom to warm up. The location was perfect for exploring the historic centre.
The Hotel is very nice, the interior patio is excelent, with skylight and plants decoration. The service was very good and the staff really friendly, always ready to help you. Well located in the historical center of Cuenca. The food is good and the included breakfast too. Highly recomended.
