Beautiful hotel with truly wonderful staff. Breakfast is great and the food at Social is a definite recommendation as well! Very well implemented pandemic hygiene plan as well as an overall relaxed feeling. Good for families with small and older children. The only tiny little bit of critique is the beach which seemed not to be cleaned during our stay and had a lot of trash (bottle caps, cigarette buds, etc.) on it.
Worst Hotel And Hospitality Ever
Make sure you never visit this hotel.. they are literally cheaters.. We were having 5 Rooms in the Hotel and they gave us check in at 7 PM in the evening and then we complained to the duty manager Mr,Henry, and he apologized for their mistake and told us that we’ll be giving you meals for free as for compensation and still they took the payment of meals at the check out.. Make sure you never visit this hotel again Worst hotel and hospitality ever
The Waldorf Astoria the palm Dubai is an absolute shame to the brand. The obnoxious management team here does not care about customer preferences, does not listen nor try to accommodate customer requests, nickels and dimes it’s customers, and judging by the automated response generated for negative reviews here on TripAdvisor, further confirms the lack of responsibility the management is willing to take at this property. Originally booked a three night stay but left after the first night completely disgusted by the lack of accommodation from this hotel. You’d think that post covid the hotel would appreciate and treat their customers exceptionally as a thank you for their continued support, but don’t expect that here. The property is massive yet lifeless, it feels like a confusing hospital complex with corridors after corridors and hallways after hallways. The room decor is tasteless and lacks personality and style. The exterior facade looked like a retirement home that you would not want to be moving into. The spa was a very gloomy place with depressing decor. Don’t really understand why their spa facilities haven’t reopened yet while most other five star hotels in Dubai have received clearance from the government and reopened their facilities for guests to enjoy. Massage was nothing special but the treatment rooms were freezing cold and both my partner and I felt very uncomfortable while we waited for the therapist to turn on the heat on the massage beds. Upon spa check out the receptionist informed me that because I had a spa credit included in my room package, I would not qualify for the massage promotion which I booked weeks ago and was never informed of any restrictions. This was the first time ever that I encountered restrictions on using FHR credits at a hotel. Just to be clear the weekday spa promotion offered was nothing worth writing home about, it was 20% off regular price and with all the facilities closed and the overall spa experience significantly reduced, it was pathetic that they were only offering 20% off full price, four days a week. The spa only agreed to offer me the promotional price after I requested this matter be discussed with management. This was just another incident of the hotel nickel and diming it’s guests. Despite all the disappointment, I would still like to express my sincere appreciation to the staff who were courteous and helpful during my brief stay. A big thank you to Dadang at the front desk who was understanding from the very beginning, trying tirelessly to negotiate better terms with the stubborn management and letting me know that he was truly sorry and if he could have he would’ve accommodated my requests rather than lose me as a customer altogether. He truly displayed the level of service of the Waldorf Astoria brand. I would also like to thank the kind lady at the concierge/guest relations desk who, when I approached her to ask her directions to the spa, went above and beyond to walk me all the way to the other end of the hotel. Another example of exemplary service. Choosing to stay at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai was clearly the worst decision that I’ve made for this trip. Dubai, home to a kaleidoscope of luxury and ultra luxury hotel properties, this hotel is truly a disappointment. If deciding to stay at the Palm, do yourself a favor and stay at the Jumeirah property, where the hotel is built like a palace and the staff treat you like royalty.
Nice property but during COVID it could improve
As Hilton Diamond I keep being loyal to Hilton properties and chose the WA for a few days stay. The resort is nicely situated on the Palm with private beach and different pools. At check in I was happy with an upgrade to Pearl Club Level with Access to the Pearl Club. Unfortunately the Club is closed due to COVID what I noticed the following day. I asked at the reception about alternatives like F&B vouchers but was told that alternatives are only for those who especially booked Pearl Club level. Really Waldorf? That´s like you´re flying Emirates and get an Upgrade to Business Class and then get told you can´t get the menu and drinks there as you booked a different class originally....No, that doesn´t make any sense to me and definitely needs improvement.
We had a short stay december 2019 on way to Seychelles and due to bad weather came back early for a few more days as there was so much to do. First stay was not so good, coming back we kind of got the royal treatment so comments are based on both, and BTW we are Hilton Diamond members. Beautiful location Very clean, well kept, safe, well equipped Smoking at pools, balconies, outside restaurants Communication and language issues Lot of noisey kids not looked after ( hallways, bfast restaurant, lounge)/kids playground & club next to adult pool Personal concierge not so personal Valet slow, most times after calling down they didn't do anything until we got there Valet attendants outside never open door for ladies First time room, requests at check in, nice room but not location /next to elevator Second time great, amazing room but would be good to have power on balcony Housekeeping Good but inconsistent Great quality sheets/toiletries Poor quality towels Activities Tennis court, poor maintained, old racquets and balls, disorganized. The manager stepped up big time to bring us his personal racquets to play with next time. Adult pool great other than facetime etc., and having kids club right next to it background music helpful but intermittent, great service from pool guys assisting with towels and umbrellas Terrible food and beverage service, slow and incorrect orders, big missed opportunity, unfriendly service Gym very good, could use more lighter weight dumbbells Lao fantastic all around, food service Mezzerie Great breakfast and lunch first time although bit slow getting some things Second time breakfast was a disaster, pathetically slow and disorganized plus place was a zoo La Perle Flexible and good service and food, spoiled by smoke from outside Pearl Club Lounge Great for breakfast and hors derv, would be nice to have pork, one morning lot of uncontrolled kids Bit silly not allowed in evening with dress shorts but allow kids under 12 and men in t shirts and ripped jeans We spent time talking to various managers and they seemed to want to learn and improve so I do hope some of these have been implemented. Would we recommend and or go back, yes to both, we had planned to be there this december again but not with current situation.
