One of Dubai’s most popular family attractions, Wild Wadi offers fun aqua activities for little ones and serious thrillseeking for bigger kids.

With rides suitable for all ages, Wild Wadi is the perfect place for families to have fun whilst keeping cool in the Dubai heat. Opened as Dubai’s first waterpark in 1999 by the Jumeirah group, this compact 30-ride waterpark is themed around the tale of Juha, a popular adventure character in Arabian folklore.

One of the park’s most famous rides is the Jumeriah Sceirah – a six-second adrenaline-rush of a ride that looms over the waterpark. Climb the 32-metre high tower, enter one of the glass capsules and, as the floor is whipped away from under your feet, fall vertically down an enclosed tube before it turns into a more traditional waterslide.

Of course if literally being swept off your feet isn’t for you, Wild Wadi also offers more conventional thrillseeking with a range of waterslides and a series of ‘masterblasters’ –high-powered water jets that propel your rubber ring upwards along a rollercoaster-type ride. For activities a little more on the sedate side, there’s a 360-metre lazy river and the largest wave pool in the Middle East, which is also an excellent vantage point for watching helicopters landing on the famous Burj Al Arab’s helipad. For the littlest ones, there’s an interactive play structure much like a water adventure playground, with over 100 water activities.

How to see it with Kuoni

We offer a selection of luxurious family-friendly Dubai hotels close to Wild Wadi, including the three hotels at the Arabian resort of Madinat Jumeirah. Wild Wadi is just a short walk from the Jumeirah Beach Hotel – an impressive wave-like building positioned on the beachfront with great facilities and views of the Burj Al Arab. And if you’re staying at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, you’ll receive free entry to Wild Wadi.

Insider tip

There are areas for relaxing at Wild Wadi, but if you’re seeking a guaranteed shaded lounging spot then book one of the six private cabanas located alongside the lazy river (at extra cost).
