24 hours in Dubai

If you’re on a short stopover in Dubai to break up a long flight, our travel experts have picked out their unmissable recommendations for things to do on a Dubai stopover.

"I highly recommend booking a booth at the 360° restaurant and nightclub, located at the end of Jumeirah Beach Hotel’s Marina walkway. It’s a really trendy nightclub where you can dance the night away or chill out on the decking upstairs, listening to chill out tunes and gazing over the Dubai skyline. It is right by the harbour so is a favourite with the yacht owners."

Rebecca Deacon, Manager at Kuoni at John Lewis Welwyn

"Atlantis The Palm has a whopping 23 restaurants, including Ossiano, a seafood restaurant looking straight into the aquarium! My favourite is the amazing French cuisine at La Brasserie. I’d then head to Nasimi Beach at the resort to order a tasty strawberry mojito, soak up the relaxed atmosphere created by live DJs and gaze over the Dubai skyline."

Melissa Fritchley, Personal Travel Expert at Kuoni Cheltenham

"Definitely explore the Gold souk – you still have to haggle but it looks stunning, it's just another class of gold. I’d also recommend brunch at Mina A' Salam hotel. Brunch is massive in Dubai and should definitely be done with a glass or two of Champagne. The art galleries and cafes of Bastakia Quarter in the more traditional area of Dubai are also worth a visit, as it's good to see the contrast between new and old."

Louise Collins, Kuoni Dubai expert

"Sky Tea at the Skyview Bar inside Burj al Arab is one of the most amazing afternoon teas I’ve ever had! Located on the top floor, you have unrivalled views over Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands. Teas, coffees, pastries and cakes are served with home-made jams and Devonshire clotted cream. Yum!"

Emma Rodgers, Manager at Kuoni Trafford Centre, Manchester

"Start off shopping at the biggest mall in the world, The Dubai Mall, which has over 1200 shops, 200 places to eat and entertainment including an ice rink! In the mall, you’ll find the entrance to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, where you can buy a ticket for the At The Top observation deck, which costs around £21. After, have a meal around the world’s most spectacular musical fountain outside the mall. My favourite place to eat is Urbano, a lovely Italian restaurant with views over the dancing water."

Faye Gallacher, Assistant Manager at Kuoni at John Lewis Leicester
