Gorkha Gaun Resort, Gorkha
A rustic village-style resort with breathtaking mountain and valley views.
For a truly rustic and authentic Nepali village experience we highly recommend this tranquil resort, which sits in the heart of the Himalayan foothills. The resort was rebuilt following the 2015 earthquake using locally sourced hand-carved stones and slates, while the furnishings were created by local craftspeople. You can walk to nearby Gurung and Magar villages and learn more about the Gurka soldiers who grew up in this beautiful region. For the more active there are numerous treks that you can enjoy which take you deep into rural Nepal. On return, enjoy 360-degree views from the hotel's restaurant. The cuisine on offer depends on the produce that is available from the local villages – you are sure to get a real taste of the region with a stay here.
The simply designed cottages have no televisions, however with views like those which you can enjoy at the Gorkha Gaun a television is the last thing you would need.
