Amankora Paro Lodge

A modern and zen-like retreat tucked away in a beautiful pine forest

This hill-side hideaway is set away from the centre of Paro in a serene pine forest. There's nothing quite like waking to the sound of nearby streams and views of snow-capped mountains. The style here is minimalist, with a mix of modern and traditional Bhutanese architecture and décor, while the service is incredibly attentive, with the staff seemingly anticipating your every need. The trail head that winds up to the iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery is just a short distance away, and once you return from your hike the spa, with its Bhutanese hot stone baths, is a welcome retreat.

Meal times are a sociable occasion with communal tables set up in the dining room. During warmer months you can even dine out on the terrace which features a fire pit and has incredible Paro valley views. The suites are simple, with light-wood décor and furnishings as well as plenty of natural light. There's a real zen-like atmosphere, something that you'll experience at all the Amankora properties.
