Havana was amazing. The music in the street bars was brilliant. Parque Central was a lovely hotel indeed. The staff there were all very professional, friendly & spoke good English. We were housed in the new section, which was fine & the room facilities good. On our return trip, the front desk said we had been upgraded to a room in the old front section; the room was slightly better & larger but much noisier, but luckily we were worn out. We also had a lovely tour in Havana in a 1960 Chevy, which was good value & organised by the hotel concierge. The taxis from other hotels & those in the street were not always so good; no seat belts, windows not working.
Location, location, location
We stayed here for three nights in mid-January, and it was great. Our room was on the second floor of the modern side, which meant that it was quiet but had no view at all. There was a musty smell in the hallways but the room smelled fine - until we turned the air conditioning off. It was quite cold, but once we turned it off, the room developed a very musty smell. We figured out that you have to leave the fan on all the time, even if the air isn't on. Other than that, the room was fine. Both elevators were working. The pool is nice on the roof-top. We didn't eat in the hotel other than breakfast which was great. The concierge in the Colonial side was able to arrange a two-hour ride in an old Chevy, and the driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. The concierge in the modern side told us where to go to buy rum, water and soft drinks. You can buy cans of soft drinks and bottled water at the bar, but it's very expensive there. The doormen are very attentive, and the lobby in the Colonial side has a nice ambiance, although the piano has seen better days (it must be hard to keep it in tune, I'm sure, in the heat and humidity). The best thing about the hotel is its location - right near the heart of everything, within walking distance from most of the sights you could want to see. All in all, a great stay.
We stayed here for 3 days. On arrival there were not any double rooms available, but the reception Manager upgraded us immediately to a city view room so we could have a double bed. We had a room on the modern side of the hotel, as it is actually 2 buildings. There was only one lift working out of 3. The pillows were lumpy, and the shower water leaked into the hallway, but it was a clean and comfortable room. The bathroom was lovely with robes, and a good range of branded toiletries The pool area on the roof is stunning with amazing views of the city. What really stood out for me was the staff and service at the hotel. Truly impeccable. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly and polite, There was always someone at the entrance to welcome you, and Concierge are very well informed . The hotel is very well located to explore Old Havana. We had an amazing stay and will stay here again. Well done to the staff at Parque Central
Parque Central: right in the centre of it all
My husband and I and his sister spent three night at the Iberostar Parque Central in January 2020. We we extremely pleased with everything at the hotel. We stayed in the newer section. My husband and I had a junior suite on the third floor and my sister-in-law has a regular room down the hall. Only one room was available but we were checking in early at 2:30 and not 4:00. Staff were happy to hold our luggage until our room was ready at 4:00. The staff has a distinctly Cuban attitude to customer service, which can be off putting if you’re used to North American ways. The snack bar on the pool roof top was fine for a quick lunch and the view was gorgeous. Location cannot be beat. Everything you’d want to do in Havana was within walking distance of the hotel: Hop on hop off bus 10CUC was right outside the door in the park, the waterfront, the old town, pedestrian streets, we even walked to the “Buena Vista Social Club” - which of course doesn’t exist anymore - at night. Soap and amenities were plentiful and the staff would bring extras if requested. I would recommend going to the Obispa and buying some bottled water. You only get one complimentary 750 ml bottle for the entire stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious. I would have appreciated hand sanitizers around the entrance to the buffet. The photo was taken from the pool patio on the top floor in the modern building. I highly recommend this hotel.
Best Hotel in Havana
This Hotel is truly a 5 star one, the place is amazing. It’s perfectly located, so you can walk basically to every sightseeing. The rooms are very very spacious and overall nicely decorated, I loved the toiletries also. Breakfast has a lot of options and they have a chef cooking you omelettes and eggs in the spot. Definitely this is the best hotel in all of Havanna.
