Easy Accommodations, rooms priced for many budgets
We normally tend to stay at smaller, boutique hotels when traveling on vacation but in researching for this leg of the trip and because we were just here a few days this place was a great solution. There are rooms priced for varied budgets, many activitiy options serving different types of guests and the hotel location is ideal. Arriving from ferry is easy - a van efficiently transports your luggage while you take an easy walk over to the hotel. The breakfast buffet is absolutely HUGE. The pool / beach is also HUGE and provides options to either lounge by the massive pool area or head down to the beach / sea. Good to know - they provide a beach towel for use each day that you "check in and out". Convenient and what you would expect from a large resort hotel.
A large, clean and modern hotel in an imposing position above an excellent sandy beach. Situated in a very pleasant uncrowded area. The resort has excellent and varied facilities, friendly professional staff and a good choice of restaurants...
WOW... WOW... WOW
You have to stay here when visiting Hvar! An absolutely beautiful hotel complex, rooms are great, lobby is huge and decadent, bar lounge is handy as part of the lobby, restaurant is in an adjacent building, a few steps away, the pool area is perfect, and we walked to the town square in 20 minutes, all along a beautiful walkway beside the harbour! Yes, you have to stay here when visiting Hvar!
Magical 3 days on Hvar
I would thoughoughly recommend the the Amfora Grand to anyone wishing to stay in Hvar. we arrived in mid October which is at the end of the season in Croatia. Most activities in the area had closed for the season but the Amfora still ahd kayat rental and cycling tours available, exactly what we wanted. The Amfora lays on a free luggage transfer from the ferry port, which is well worth taking advantage of as, the walk from the port to the hotel is one of the best most enjoyable half mile walks ever, the hotel comes into view about 600 yds into the walk, the noise from the cascade pool begins to become audible and you start to really look forward to staying at the Amfora. The room was a bit small in comparison to some but I must say the views more than made up for it. We had a sea view room with balcony that caught the setting sun, well worth paying the extra if you can for a sea view room.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful views.
Gorgeous setting and a short 10 minute walk into old Hvar town. Staff very friendly and most speak English. Rooms are average. Beautiful pool, but cold. Still nice to enjoy a drink from the pool bar. Breakfast buffet is very good with lots of choices. Really nice restaurant to the left of hotel on the hill. The name escapes me but very reasonable, good food. In town there is a reasonable laundry service and food market. Lots of really nice restaurants located in some of old Hvars labyrinth of small alleys.
