So many things wrong
This was supposed to be my dream vacation for my 50th. They just don't care. The reservation was wrong. Room wasn't ready when we arrived. Shower makes a huge mess, and because it's separate from actual room, doesn't get climate control and is hot. Fire ants in room all the time. Free breakfast is disgusting and severely lacking in variety. We have to empty a dehumidifier? Seriously? In a boutique hotel? No toilet paper holder. Did I mention the food stinks here? I ordered a simple bowl of pasta, my husband ordered chicken with no sides. They put his chicken on top of my pasta and delivered it. Two meals, one plate. That's taking conservation to a whole new level. Mixed drinks are not that good, either. It's hard to mess up a bloody mary, but they did. Adding half a glass of lemon juice to tomato juice is gross. My husband treated me to a mani - 90 minutes later, I left with nails not painted and a cut on my finger from cuticle clipper. I can't believe this place is so expensive. I will not recommend this to any of my travel agent friends. I'm so incredibly disappointed.
Hidden Gem in Tamarindo
I just adore this boutique beachfront hotel. The service is incredible, the location is convenient, directly on the beach and just far enough out of bustling Tamarindo that is feels secluded and quiet while still being close to the action. Awesome wildlife on site (monkeys, iguanas, raccoons) and some adorable non-wild life (resident cats and the friendly neighborhood dog. The food at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, the rooms are comfortable and unique, and the pool area is tranquil and immaculate. I highly recommend staying here !
Beautiful Beach hotel
Our room was air conditioned with a large bathroom and a outdoor private balcony,, perfect for relaxation. The property is right on the beach, we had dinner on the sand and the food was excellent. All of the staff are friendly and attentive. A local troop of Howler monkeys visited 2 x daily. We took a surfing lesson and went on a Mangrove tour , both arranged by the concierge. We had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend.
Perfection in paradise...
Just spent 9 nights at Capitan Suizo. Our first trip to Tamarindo, but definitely not our last. What you should know, before you go. If you like a relaxing, quiet, vacation, you will love it at Capitan Suizo. You must also love animals. House cats- Cali, Pinto, and Simba will greet you in the lobby. Bigotes’ and Angelina love to hang out in the lower level by the pool and laundry area. Juvia, the rescue raccoon may also entertain you. Coco and Teddy (2 really awesome dogs) also hang out. There are howler monkeys, iguana, countless birds on the property. For an animal lover like me, it kept me from missing my own pets and I found it charming. The hotel is SPOTLESS and very covid safe. The rooms are designed humbly but quite beautifully. Every person on the staff that we met was kind and very helpful. So many people that we will miss. Max, Manuel, Naty, Nubia, Maricella, Ruben,Angel, Rosa,Cristhian. I wish I would’ve written down every name but can’t remember them all. The entire staff is just AWESOME! Tamarindo is a laid back surfer town, safe and really, really fun! If you have not visited, go now!! Friendly reminder- the entire property is eco friendly and there is no smoking. It was a PERFECT vacation! Can’t wait to go back!
Boutique Hotel with a personal touch
Small property right on the beach with pretty grounds and a very attentive staff that tries to please Andreas at the front desk was just wonderful! Breakfast was nicely served and tasty. The only negatives were that they do not offer any daytime activities or evening programs. Not much to do and a little of a walk into Tamarindo town. Wish it was a bit closer. In general we liked our experience there and would come back again
