Comfortable and Quiet
Tibet Hotel room 806 was a large room plenty of storage bath and shower room with two doors one from room lobby and one from far side of bedroom. WiFi strong and fast. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. Front desk staff rather rude but the rest of the staff were very pleasant.
Comfy and well located
Popular, quiet and comfortable hotel with extensive breakfast selection. Good base in Chengdu foe business or if you are going to see the Pandas. If you are looking for a nearby restaurant I would highly recommend the hot pot place across the road.
I forgot to take a selfie with the YAK!!!
The room at this hotel was the most "luxuriously" appointed of all the hotels in my tour of China. I booked on Hotels.com, but it was recommended by my tour company. Checked in 30 April checked out 2 May The lobby bar has some A Capella entertainment, and I thought I could just dine/snack there. That was not the case! After ordering and partially consuming a bottle of Chinese Wine, returned with it to my room, where ordering room service was a challenge. The person on the other end could not understand me, and it took a trip down to the front desk with the menu to figure out what I needed. Having done that, I got a phone call to say that what I ordered was not available, because it was after 10 pm! So back down to the front desk I trudged and finally placed the order, went back to my room, and the food I finally ordered arrived within a reasonable time. I guess it was slightly annoying because the whole idea of ROOM service is to be able to order from the room! Maybe I should have bought TWO bottles of wine! The following night, I did not make the same mistake, but took myself to the restaurant (not the buffet side) for a lovely meal.
A lovely surprise
The Tibetan hotel in Chengdu was a lovely surprise. What a beautiful hotel with really attentive staff. This hotel certainly deserves its 5 stars! The whole place is decorated in Tibetan themed colours, wall hangings and ornaments. Its a classy and tasteful hint towards Tibetan life and culture. The rooms are well appointed with the most comfortable of beds and silk duvets! Locationwise, it isn't in the centre of town, however it has amenities close by, with a large shopping mall around 10 minute walk away. If you want some western food, you'll be glad to know you can find yourself a KFC and a Macdonalds there.
Nice hotel for the price
Tibet Hotel was booked by our travel company and we were happy with the choice. the rooms were average size, nice decor, stylish bathroom. Breakfast was good. Wifi worked most of the time which is the same in other hotels. Location was good. Staff was very friendly.
