We had a fantastic experience with lots of fun activities that are well organized. The employees are extremely polite and courteous, attentive to the need of guest. Beautiful atmosphere filled with warm and peace... absolutely love it!
I have heard about this place but never stayed here before. It was my husband and I's 20th wedding anniversary and it was a great choice even if we are in the middle of a pandemic. Positives: 1)Tons of out door activities (hiking, hot tubs, lake) 2) restaurant staff is super helpful and friendly. Even though we were permitted to eat in the indoor dining room, we chose to not be around people during this pandemic so we took our meals back to our room. The bar staff (David or Daniel) was extremely efficient and so were all of the other hotel staff 3) our lake front balcony view was to die for. If you are going to stay there, get a lakeside view room 4) our 2 dinners were delicious Negatives 1) they only tell you when you get to the hotel that even if rooms have fireplaces, you cannot put them on. They no longer let guests make fires in their rooms 2) rooms are very basic and dated. 3) the bed is pretty hard and makes tons of noise to simply roll over in bed. It is just ok. Personal opinion here but I hate it when a bed does not have a headboard. It looks so cheap 4) there is no room service but you can take your meals back to your room I don't think there is another hotel in the province of Quebec that has the serenity, privacy and lakefront access/beauty like this one. We have been all over (eastern townships, Charlevoix, Tremblant etc..). This location takes the cake. I imagine it it fabulous in the winter with the skating, snowshoeing and snowmobiling
Connect with Nature
This is the perfect place to go if you're looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and recharge your batteries. The views are breathtaking and you can't help but relax when surrounded by unspoiled nature. The food is excellent, the staff are friendly, courteous and take the extra time to chat and make sure you're taken care of. The hiking trails lead to even more spectacular views of the surrounding lakes. The beach is pristine and the water crystal clear and refreshing. I highly recommend Hotel Sacacomie!
Overpriced and very disappointing service and food
If it wasn’t for the lake, this hotel wouldn’t have gotten a single « circle » in my rating. The lake, in and of itself, is beautiful but sadly, there is nothing good about this hotel. The hotel boasts four stars but the rooms don’t have air conditioning, no TV and no mini bar. The rooms are very hot in summer but they do give you a noisy fan if you ask nicely. The pillows were very uncomfortable. The rooms were not very clean. You could easily smell and feel the dust in the room (particularly if you have asthma) The 10 minute walk down on the narrow path from the hotel to the lake is beautiful but slippery and old. There are no umbrellas on the lake side, no food or drinks station. So despite the price of the room, don’t expect to find food by the lake (not even water). What’s more, the toilets by the lake side are dry toilets and veeeeery dirty. We had the buffet dinner and it was insanely expensive (almost 70 dollars per person before tax for very very very average food). The cheese station was filled with flies and they were exposed to air and insects. All in all, the experience is very disappointing.
Lovely weekend stay despite shortcomings
This hotel has a great location, in a forest, overlooking Lake Sacacomie. It's a tranquil place. We had a junior suite. Let's start with the bad: This place was built when global warming hadn't accelerated as it has, so the lack of air condition in summer is a problem, the ceiling fans don't cut it. They make much of the in-room jacuzzis in their advertising. Problem is, it's truly too small for a couple to enjoy it together. The bed, probably queen size, is simply too small for two adults of average height. This is all really puzzling, given the size of the room. There's no TV, not a problem for me, but others might be bothered. The good: The room is ginormous, so is the patio that goes with it. The views are breathtaking. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I asked for a fridge to be placed in the room, which happened, I was super grateful for that. The buffet has been replaced by food served at the buffet table by their own staff, due to COVID. Works just fine. Only issue, Quebec being Quebec, the menu description is French only. WiFi works ok, is complimentary. COVID special: The outdoor pools are currently closed, and the indoor pool is nothing to get excited about. Staff all worse masks and the infection control procedures seem well thought out. I wore a mask when picking up food, but I was the odd guy out. Most visitors were from Quebec, and things there are a bit more lax than where I reside, at least at the time of writing. The surrounding wineries we visited made a mess of infection control. Let the buyer beware.
