looking for a place for psychology patient. Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. This can place an extra emotional and financial burden on patients and caregivers during an already challenging time. The American Cancer Society is trying to make this difficult situation easier for both cancer patients and their families through our lodging programs.
Horrible bites after staying here
I stayed here one night for a medical trip and left worse off then when I arrived! See the pictures for the bites. I was not expecting reimbursement as I didn’t pay for the trip, but at least to speak to a manager on duty to inform them so they could get the guests that were now in the room out so they didn’t get bit as well. I was on hold for 15 minutes being bounced between phone lines by the switchboard operator and no one at front desk could take my call. The lady informed me there was already new guests in the room and it was unfortunate and she was sorry and to call back tomorrow and ask to speak with housekeeping. This room needs pest control in it not housekeeping!!! I work in hotels and was very upset to see how this situation was handled.
Huge Hotel - friendly staff
Having stayed at this hotel several times, this is an average score after having good and not so good stays. First and foremost, this hotel is huge and it can get very busy. However, with this in mind, the hotel has many different entry/exits, a huge reception area and different elevators that serve different floors. So despite the large number of guests, it’s never actually been an issue, at least not in my experience. The rooms are of a good standard..... however as a better idea: . The walls are quite thin, so if you end up with noisy neighbours (even if they are several doors down) you’ll most likely be disturbed. Additionally, if you happen to be in a room near the elevators etc... you’ll hear a lot of foot traffic outside your door and again... some have much heavier feet than others. . Rooms on the lower floors can get a lot of noise from the street (not the hotels fault) but being woken up by sirens, drilling etc... is never a good experience. . If you visit in the winter, some rooms aren’t well “sealed” and your room can end up being as cold inside as it is outside! I have even had rain come into my room (through the balcony door and when it’s snowing heavily and snow is coming into your room, that really isn’t welcome. However, the hotel has as acted quickly in response to this. Location wise, the hotel is in a great location. It’s a short walk to loads of attractions, shops, restaurants, malls etc.... so this is a huge plus! The hotels staff are very friendly, welcoming and they’ve always done their best with the resources that they have available to them. Overall it’s a good option, but it really boils down to which hotel room you get allocated. Fingers crossed it’s a good one.
It's very big
Very busy and bustling hotel with a lot of queuing required. Comfortable enough and plenty of in-house facilities, but not really the place for a quiet stay though it is centrally situated in the city centre
Trip to Sick Kids Hospital
The Chelsea hotel has nice rooms, great staff who are polite, courteous and very helpful. It is located near many good restaurants and several hospitals. I was comfortable, felt safe and enjoyed my stay there while I visited my grandson at the hospital.
