Not worth the price
We had a pleasant stay at the Hilton Fallsview. We got a good deal because of covid, which made the stay worth it, but honestly the best part of our stay was the view. They didn’t have many guidelines in place to protect staff and guests from covid. The overall feel of the hotel is pretty cold. Although staff were friendly, you definitely get the impression that they don’t really care if you enjoy your stay or not. They know they have a view of the falls and they will get people no matter what. So although the price is over the top, the service doesn’t really match. Also I feel the rooms could use a bit of an update especially because of the way they brand themselves. I was also told I was getting a voucher for dinner and breakfast upon arrival that would be available at their Italian restaurant and Starbucks only to be told I wasn’t when I went to use it. This hotel is fine and you’ll have a pleasant stay if you’re willing to shell out for it, but it’s nothing special and I had just as pleasant experience in a shockingly similar room (that included parking and a bagged breakfast at your door) at the motel I stayed at the next night for $80.
Pretty Embarrassing for the Hilton Brand
Our first impression of the hotel was great! Parking is close (but insanely expensive), the lobby is beautiful and the check-in staff were very nice. But then, we went to our room. The furniture is all old and scratched up, the carpet was wavy, the windows were dirty, the TV screens were old and didn't work well, many channels also didn't work or had a low signal, and the room was overall simply outdated. The walls are also very thin and we heard people from the hall and other rooms. The lights are messed up so that when we left the bathroom light on overnight for the kids, the light came beaming in through our bedroom also. It felt more like a nice Best Western rather than a Hilton. Overall, I don't think we'll be back there and wouldn't recommend to anyone looking for a higher standard hotel.
It was alright but expensive
You can barely see the falls over the other structures, you might get a clear view if you were at the top floor, we were between the top and middle and could not, but the city lights at night were alright. The expense for the room was a bit much considering it was standard, not spacious like some resorts would have it, the bed took up majority of the space and the whirl pool was neat but not top notch, just basic whirl pool tub, there was a window by the tub with a curtain that rolls up so you can relax and enjoy the TV from there. You can order food to your room, the menu's are really basic and expensive though. It felt like overpaying for an experience that you weren't even getting... The halls and elevator have a lot of traffic, the dining area in the hotel is always busy. We ate out just to avoid the crowds. If you went for a smoke outside the hotel, there really isn't a spot, and it is incredibly windy! The hotel honestly was not worth the money. Honestly you are just getting a room, they keep it clean for you, that's it. The plus side is there is a valet to park your car. I would stay else where next time...
Expensive parking fee
Overall experience with this hotel was not bad. The room was nice with an excellent view over the falls. I specially requested a high floor upon booking and my wish was fulfilled. The only significant downside was an extremely expensive hotel parking ($49).
Parking Fee will put you in the poorhouse :(
I have stayed many times, my reviews all have been less than stellar. This time though I was more than happy except for parking which I'll get into below. During this health crisis the hotel seems to have it together, staff were friendly & helpful, prices reasonable and my room was upgraded at no charge. There was an option for pickup of an evening meal and Starbucks was open. My 2 night stay was awesome! Now let's get to parking! Valet or No Valet there's 1 fee $49 per night, doesn't sound too unreasonable until the taxes and fees are all added in. Final parking cost $61.73 per night so my total was $123.46 total for my 2 night stay. I always parked at the casino previously so this was shocking when I saw my bill. I will stay again at this Hilton but will DEFINITELY park elsewhere.
