Great location, Beautiful hotel
We booked this place for a ski holiday with our grown children. For skiers you cannot beat the location because the Whistler Village Gondola is right behind the hotel. The service has been great. The rooms are very nice. My only complaint is that the pool opens at 6 am and so I was woken up to the sound of screaming kids at 7:30 in the morning which I didn’t appreciate. I think the hotel needs to revisit this policy and push it until 9 am at least for guests under the age of 18.
Great hotel, perfect location
The Westin is ideally located in the Whistler Village, right at the base of the Whistler Gondola. It was such a luxury to wake up, have a delicious buffet breakfast and then walk a short distance to the gondola to hit the slopes. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Rooms are well appointed. Perfect place to stay while in Whistler!
Great family winter vacation
We had a wonderful stay. The Westin has great customer service and accommodated my family so well. We were able to get a room upgrade which was wonderful. Our kids loved the s’mores and hot chocolate Evey evening was a nice treat. The Grill and Vine was an easy restaurant and having access to ski rentals in the hotel was awesome! We will definitely come back and enjoy!
Leadership Failed to Deliver or Respond/Resolve
Ater several years of visiting Whistler, we decided to try a new hotel. From the exterior, the place looked amazing. I am sure in the off season, it’s worth an off season rate. When paying $1500 a night for hotel over Family Day weekend - the leaders of the hotel should step up, lead and deliver. The leaders here failed us with overbooking and under staffing. While several associates (“H.......” at the front desk) were amazing. His leader (“G.....”) hid in the back office making himself unavailable to assist. Our room actually had holes and tears in the bathroom towels. Dishes in the dishwasher from a previous guest and dirt/rocks on the floor. We tipped the room steward on the first night and left a note in hopes for a little spiff up, no luck. On a positive note, Ski Valet and the CAN SKI team was awesome.
Excellent Customer Service
Was a little hesitant at first because of the reviews about the lack of customer service however I experienced the complete opposite. From Harrison at check in being completely welcoming and accommodating to the friendly bell staff. Rooms are a little outdated but clean. My new favourite place to stay in Whistler!
