Whistler is always a beautiful place to go for a short vacation since we live in the city. We came up with my boyfriends parents and we stayed here at the Fairmont. I’ve stayed here before on a previous trip and we loved it here. It’s very comfortable and the staff are super friendly and kind. The pool and hot tubs are amazing and restaurants are great! We’ll definitely stay here again in the future!
A true mountain ecperience
I’m a Fairmont loyalist and was very excited for my two night stay at this hotel. I had a lovely time and the Fairmont Whistler truly has the best pool experience of all the Canadian Fairmont’s I’ve been to so far. I did feel like the hotel could do with some updating (gold floor rooms and the bar need a refresh) but if you’re looking for a more rustic mountain hotel experience than this is for you. I will list my pros and cons but overall it was a great experience and price-wise I got a decent deal (maybe because of COVID rates?) Pros: great check in experience with the health and wellness representative at the front door. As I mentioned the pool is fabulous and I loved that they had a check in assistant with full loungers towels and servers walking around taking drinks orders. Rooftop restaurant was a nice addition, although hard to find. Bathroom facilities around the hotel were spotless. Location is great, especially if you’re going there to ski. Portobello has a decent breakfast selection for eat in and take away. Cons: I applied for a paid estandby upgrade for the gold floor and only found out the gold floor lounge was under renovation when I arrived. This was disappointing and I feel it shouldn’t have been offered if not available as I got my hopes up. The gold floor rooms need a revamp. Fairmont in Edmonton has done a great job updating their dated gold floor rooms, Whistler should follow suit to keep up. There was a number of car rally participants staying at the hotel. They were allowed park upfront (to show off) and they would rev their engines throughout the day. I really found this loud and distracting and was shocked it was allowed by the hotel. I feel it really cheapened their image. No water available at the gym (COVID restrictions) and no bottled water was supplied in the rooms. Also, super nit picky but the slippers in the room were plain white non branded rather than the usual luxurious Fairmont slippers provided. I would return if I got a good deal (especially if they revamp the whole of the gold floor, if not, I might try the Four Seasons to compare.
We stayed at the Fairmont Whistler in September and our stay was excellent as always. We received house-made chocolate, and it was the best dessert. Server Paul from The Wildflower is great. Thank you Fairmont Team. It is the best hotel.
"Always an Amazing Experience"
We recently stayed at the Fairmont in August and our stay was excellent as always. From the moment you walk in the door, their always friendly management and staff was there to greet us. The safety measures and standards during this time are incredible. The health club, restaurants and spa were at their highest standards, we enjoyed lovely massages. The pool atmosphere was great, we had one of their spacious cabanas right beside the pool. Fabulous food and beverage service delivered right to us. Our suite was recently renovated, it was huge to say the least, beautiful bathrooms and views of the gardens were incredible. I travel to this property a few times a year for work, we are always treated with the highest standard, this trip was with friends and it reminds me why we always come back. The Fairmont experience is in a class all on its own. Look forward to returning soon. Tiffany
wonderful safety measures and thoughtful management and staff
We visited this hotel on August 9 and 10 of 2020. We went to Whistler as part of a staycation celebration for my husbands birthday. We started off our day in Whistler at the Fairmont Golf Course. We arrived and were helped by their excellent concierge that helped us get familiar with the club and amenities. We were early for our round which allowed us to explore the pro shop as well as the restaurant. As we checked in for our tee time, the pro shop staff wished my husband a happy birthday and told us that golf for him was complimentary. WOW! That was so nice and unexpected. It truly made us feel very grateful. So we made sure we bought a couple of shirts from the pro shop to pay our appreciation back. We were paired with another lovely couple for golf that are members at this club. They were excellent ambassadors and we really enjoyed playing with them. We ended up staying for drinks at the club and
