Last Fairmont I will stay in.
I have been a loyal Fairmont client for over 20 years. Currently a diamond member and I can say with confidence my last Fairmont experience I expect to ever have. From an absolute unimaginable check in I have never experienced a more pathetic attempt at communication from a front end staff. Even after explaining my confusion the desk manager never even bothered coming to speak to us. For some reference my invoices upon check out average between $7500 and $55000 per weekend. To not even pretend to address our concerns tells me a lot about Fairmonts commitments to its clients. We changed to the 4 seasons right next door and upon check in where upgrade to a suit and checked in with zero input from us other then leaving my credit card at the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk actually took the time to finish my check in and returned my card as I enjoyed a bottle of wine in the lounge. The girl at the Fairmont would not even touch my card. So to anyone thinking of the Fairmont in Whistler I suggest look next door to the 4 Seasons. It is well worth it. Cheers. M
This resort is absolutely spectacular! The amenities are second to none, the staff goes above and beyond for any request. They are doing a great job keeping the resort clean and all precautions are in place to keep clients safe and healthy. You do have to book a time at the pool after check in which is no problem, things aren’t the same as usual, I expect to have to wait for certain things when a facility is working hard to keep people safe. We stayed in a Mountain View One Bedroom Suite and it was phenomenal! I highly recommend booking a suite at this resort!
Terrible social distancing. We came to stay for four nights because we were told that they had very high standards of safety. They were filming a movie in the lobby for most of our stay. There were people everywhere acting, working and watching. It made the temperature checking station look ridiculous and redundant . The staff member I talked to said she is feeling unsafe working with this going on. We had to duck and weave to get through and it was very intrusive. I will not be surprised if there is a COVID breakout originating at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
Amazing resort lots to do and great restaurants. You have to check out the gondola ride and the peak to peak from blackhome to whistler. The staff are great ensuring everyone is staying safe and following protocols
Not quite as advertised
Staff all very friendly and they try....however almost impossible to get pool time as it must be reserved after check in and by that time all spots will be booked for days in advance. We chose this hotel because they advertised it would not be at full capacity and rooms would be vacant at least 48 hrs prior to check in due to COVID; neither of which is true. Also when I booked it stated that the nightly $20 resort fee would not be charged for June as not all amenities were available....again that was not true as they changed policy and do charge and did not honour the policy when we did book. Lots of other choices in Whistler right now, would recommend looking at alternatives so you are not disappointed. I would not rate this hotel in same category as Four Seasons next door.
