Stayed at this location, at a harbour view room, over the labour day long weekend. I was extremely happy with the service, view and room. I would stay here again! The location was excellent, within walking distance of Robson Street, Gastown, and Waterfront station.
My mom & I booked 2 nights here as a special getaway. Considering the steep price, we assumed we'd be in for a luxurious stay. Instead -- complete mediocrity. I could've been at a Days Inn in Cleveland. There were no special touches at all - no fresh flowers in the lobby and the pool area was dull and needed sweeping, there were no flowers there either. The room, with a partial harbor view (which you pay a premium for), was so poorly laid out. Instead of the beds facing the view, if you were laying in bed you stared at an ugly concrete building. The only way to see the lovely view was to stand at the window. There were no chairs in the room besides a desk chair. Yes, it's covid, but really, the Fairmont couldn't do better than 2 paper cups for coffee? NO bottled water? No replenishing of supplies for day two (and no housekeeping). $52 for parking? Hot tub -- not even a pot of plants to make it a less sterile boring area. The elevators were so busy we waited at least 10 minutes 3x during our stay just to get on one. I wasn't even going to write this review but I've just checked into a Radisson near Vancouver airport for 1/4 of the price. Of course, there is no view, BUT they have supplied real glassware, 2 bottles of water, 2 real mugs instead of paper cups, and there are fresh flowers and fruits available in the lobby. At the Radisson. Come on, Fairmont. You bill yourself as an elegant, luxurious hotel and the Radisson is out doing you. Very disappointing. We won't be returning to a Fairmont.
Reminded me of an outdated Vegas Hotel
Stayed here for three days/two nights as part of a staycation d/t Covid. I would rate this as a 3 star hotel room, with 4 star service. We were upgraded upon arrival to the 20th floor. Unfortunately, room was dated; TV remote had ?food on it; there was a melted cough drop on the window sill; and duvet was stained. The saving grace of our stay was the outdoor pool. We had no difficulty making reservations, and d/t limited numbers, the pool was uncrowded and very comfortable. Weather was amazing as well. Lunch at the pool was tasty, although as expected, costly - ie. $18 for chips and guacamole. Movie rental in the room was $25/movie; parking was $55/night. Hotel is in a great location, and we dined on patios in both Gastown and Coal Harbour. Despite lovely and attentive doormen, concierge and pool staff, I honestly wouldn't stay here again. There are many better options for $400+/night. Honestly, the room reminded me of an outdated Vegas Hotel room.
2 night getaway. Fast friendly check in, complimentary room upgrade. Close attention to Covid 19 protocols.
Harbour view room on 6 floor. Room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast in ARC with friendly attentive service. Really good coffee. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Valet parking unavailable because of covid but parking is convenient and clear directions provided
Cruise Travelers You Won’t Be Disappointed
After a horrid experience at the JW Marriott on our return trip from a Disney Alaska cruise we stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront. The proximity to the cruise ship terminal is the main attraction of this hotel as it is located right across the street from the terminal. We had a room that opened up to a garden balcony. How wonderful to have this little oasis in the middle of the city. Breakfast in the room, bath robes delivered for our kiddos - let’s just say the Fairmont knows how to spoil there guests. Very happy with our stay.
