Beautiful Rooms and the View Can't be Beaten!
I stayed here for a work conference. The location can't be beaten, the room was gorgeous (almost a shame all I did was sleep there!) and the views pretty much any way you look are breathtaking. Plenty of great places to eat and see the sights nearby as well.
Nice Club level
We got a nice upgrade with the perfect view over the harbor and the mountains. The club rooms are nice but no bath tub witch was a bit sad. The Ladies from Clublounge, Aileen and Jenie had done an amazing job! Thanks very much - you made our stay special!!!
Very good location, great service, with easy access to Gastown, Stanley Park and Robeson Street and rooms with unbeatable sea views. You can see the cruise ship and water helicopter every morning from the spacious room. The only downside is the lack of a homely feel at the front desk. Because of my wonderful stay at Pan Pacific Vancouver, I decided to stay at another Pan Pacific property when I was in Xiamen, China which was also excellent. Hopefully one day Pan Pacific Toronto too!
Pull up your bootstraps for 5*
We enjoyed a post Valentines dinner and overnight at the Vancouver Pan Pacific hotel. While the room was quiet and spotless, bed comfy and TV huge there were a few things that could be improved that made us feel more 4* than 5*. 1. No live music in the bar on a Friday night and no happy hour. Prices were okay and service good. 2. The pool hot tub was not hot and full of children. 3. Both mens and ladies sauna were not hot and knob broken in ladies. 4. No attendant in gym, thus it was messy with wts on the floor and equipment disorderly. Sorry, I would cross the street to the Fairmont Pacific Rim which has live music and a well equipped, spotless fitness centre and one of the best spa's in North America.
Enjoyable stay in the Pacific Club
Took advantage of a promo to stay as a Pacific Club guest and enjoyed our experience overall. Location of hotel is easy to access via Skytrain and the Pacific Club has its own concierge on the 23rd floor. We were a little confused at first as the desk is located right inside the lounge with no signage to indicate that's where to check in. Other properties that offer a similar club feature have the check in desk outside the lounge, which we find to make more sense. Our room was nice and near the lounge with a north-east facing view of the city and harbour. The entrance to the room was spacious but we found it to be wasted space. It could have definitely used either a bench or lobby table and a picture or mirror on the wall. There was a skinny full-length mirror on the inside door of the wardrobe near the entrance, but the room could have used a proper full-length mirror in a better location. The bathroom was a good size with a great walk-in rain shower and soft robes and slippers provided. We were with another couple and their room next door had a tub, which was a little odd, given we were supposed to be in the same type of room – we liked our shower. The sink was great, as were the L'Occitane toiletries, but there was no fan, or a night light in the bathroom for those late night bathroom visits. The lighting in the room was great, although it would have been nice if there were reading lights by the bed. The bed itself was super comfy, as were all the different sized pillows. There was also lots of storage and table space to put stuff on. The lounge itself was comfortable - bright with a beautiful view. There was plenty of seating and staff were friendly and attentive. Would have been nice to have lounge chairs available in the room as well, but it was all table seating. The complimentary day-time snacks were good, including a candy station, a cookie station with a great variety of cookies, delicious scones, as well as several types of chips, salsa and guacamole. There were also pretzels, dried and fresh fruit, and a basic nut mix. There is a Nespresso machine that made some nice coffees, and complimentary beverages, but no coke or iced tea. There’s also an honour bar. The evening hors d'oeuvres from 5-7 pm were decent and very much appies. There were cheeses and a variety of meats, fresh veggies and dip, little samosas and pakoras. Other properties we've been to before have offered more substantial hors d'oeuvres, but this was still pretty good as appies go. There is a dessert service as well from 7:30-9:30 pm. We had gone out for a bit and returned before 8 pm. We saw two types of desserts available - small squares of mango mousse or cheesecake and small squares of coconut red velvet cake. Both were quite good; however, we grabbed the last pieces and they were not replenished. It was lucky we arrived when we did as other guests had come by and they never got a chance to enjoy any desserts, even though the "sweet treats" service is supposed to go until 9:30 pm. The hotel has an outdoor pool and hot tub. We thought we'd check it out as it was a beautiful night, but other guests obviously felt the same as the hot tub was busy all night so we didn't bother going in. The pool looked inviting and felt warm but we decided to pass on that too. We checked out the gym, but it's weirdly located on the cruise terminal level and you have to walk outside to get to it. Breakfast is served in the lounge until 11, which is nice when you wish to sleep in a bit on the weekend. Their breakfast is quite substantial with cereals, breads, pastries, yogurts, smoothies, cheeses, meats (including salmon lox), hot oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato nuggets, pancakes, and fresh fruit. If the lounge is busy or you want a different experience, you can also request vouchers to have breakfast at the buffet downstairs in the hotel lobby. The food is pretty much the same, with maybe a few different items, but the seating is more open and just a different setting to enjoy. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and a great way to spend an evening in our own city. The daily labelled mats in the elevators also reminded us of being on a cruise, which was a nice touch.
