Shout out to the Pan Pacific for doing their best in tough times!
My sons had to go over to Vancouver for interviews and house hunting so the three of us went together. So strange to travel in the pandemic with the hotels mostly shutdown and few travels. The staff at Pan Pacific went above and beyond. They were responsive and upbeat and the hotel was spotless!! We had to cancel the prior reservation as the interview was cancelled earlier during the pandemic and even though it was past the cancellation time the Pan Pacific gave us a full refund, so of course we booked with them when things were rescheduled.
One of my favorite places to stay in Vancouver.
When travelling for work, Pan Pacific is my go-to for overnight stays. Beautiful hotel, and extremely helpful front desk agents, always offering me suggestions for places to eat and drink after meetings.
Best view in Vancouver
This is our fourth stay here. The view and the location are unbeatable in Vancouver. The hotel is close to 40 years old but is impeccably decorated and maintained. The staff are friendly and professional. There are some minor, subtle things that keep me from rating the hotel more highly Examples: - Cheap plastic cups instead of proper glassware in our room. - No electrical plugs on one side of our bed so one of us couldn't charge and see our phone overnight. - Fairly limited number of TV channels (maybe 35ish - five sports channels featuring identical programming) for a hotel of this status and price. These are minor nitpicky things however. This is a good hotel and we will definitely stay here again. Overall, this is a good hotel and we will definitely stay here again
This is the 3rd time within the last 3 years that my wife and I have stayed at the Pan Pacific. I have never been thoroughly impressed with this hotel. The location is prime so it's usually fairly busy but, the hotel itself is getting old with little updates having been done over the years. The pool and hot tub are extremely small for the size of the hotel. Way too crowded and I have no idea why kids are allowed in the hot tub?? Should be 16 years and older. Nobody wants kids splashing around in a hot tub when you're trying to relax. I also found the pool area to be dirty, with old moss/slimy areas from the Vancouver rain. The rooms are a decent size but they are getting dated and I found the bathroom to be average. Because it was during the pandemic on this stay, the hotel was only at 25% capacity, but we still didn't get a room upgrade even though we were staying for four nights. A little disappointing. The front desk staff and bell staff are never overly friendly to us, (perhaps we don't look rich enough) Some positives are the speed of the elevators, the Asian man that looked after the pool area, (super nice and helpful man) and the views are pretty great. Overall, we will not be staying here anymore. We'll give the Fairmont next door a try next time.
stayed 1 night - what an amazing harbour view
i spent 1 Saturday night last July during the pandemic. Not busy at all and no cruiseship docked at Canada Place but it is summer so the water and mountain views are still spectacular. Service level are standard and got late check-in due to my room still not ready even it was 4pm standard check in time.
