overpriced for what is provided
The setting is superb but the room furnishings were very tired and well worn. The foot stool by the between the dated pretend leather chairs was so well worn that the pretend leather plastic on the footstool between the chairs was worn off in places. The coffee makers in my neighbours room did not work and although there was shampoo, conditioner it was only provided if you asked for it. A three star rating would be generous.
A Great Place to Stay
There is no single bad thing to say about this place and it is extremely hard to think of word exceptional about them. Staff are great , location is very good , room is relativity clean although balcony is very rusty and outlets not working (bath was in our case) . Parking has extra charge that I don't recall been told but was not that expensive ($20 per night )
We came to Inns of Laurel Point for our 25th Anniversary. When I made the reservation I mentioned our anniversary and we made sure to upgrade to the Erickson Wing. I booked this hotel because of the reviews, the pictures, and words here of guests who had an anniversary with overwhelming service. Rose pedals and complimentary gifts in the room. The only request we asked for was a room on the highest floor so we could enjoy the view and not have people banging above us. Not only did they not recognize our anniversary but they put us on the lowest floor with a tree obstructing our view of the ocean view room we paid extra for. The only other room was on the fifth floor with no view and right beside the construction taking place on the hotel and they we would’ve had to pay $20 extra per night. Very disappointed. This hotel doesn’t really go above and beyond for its customers, sadly. Thankfully Victoria did not disappoint and we really enjoyed the city and how close the hotel was to everything.
Great (but slightly dated) hotel, would stay again
July 2021 Apparently all wings of this hotel now are "new" Room was a little dated but clean Front desk convinced us (after much discussion) to upgrade room for better view, which was great, not sure what the view would have been like otherwise but it probably would have been fine since this hotel is almost surrounded by water Parking is not free approx $20-30 per night secured parking but have to walk outside to get to the parkade Indoor pool a little date and not huge Hotel location was good but a bit of a drive/walk to the action downtown. Location great for going to fishermans warf, under 5min walk to get there. Staff nice, no problem Thought i got a deal through priceline at $172 per night for 2 nights but after upgrade and parking and steep taxes (every hotel in BC) ended up walking away with a $487.76 dent in my wallet for 2 nights
Hotel was disappointing. View from our room was lovely, but the room was very basic, not even a full length or lighted bathroom mirror. The hotel restaurant was closed for breakfast on week days, yup that’s for real. The service at happy hour was so bad that we canceled our dinner reservations. Will not stay at this hotel on our next visit to Victoria.
