Spent a week here last summer. The view of the harbor is wonderful.... if you have a room with harbor view. I personally think this hotel is better than any other in Victoria. The restaurant is excellent and the rooms are large.
Nice views, long hold on Credit Card for incidentals
I was booked here by my company. Amazing view. Good front end staff. Clean rooms. Have stayed on more comfortable beds before. Tv channels were lacking. Didn’t have the business suite of accessories I would have expected. Dinky sized fridge. Robes were one size, which didn’t fit all. I had to use my own personal credit card for incidentals, and it was higher than I have ever had to pay before. The hold is still not released 9 days after the stay. This has definitely had a negative impact as this out of town stay was on short notice and I had not budgeted for it. Right now, every day after my stay, I am reminded of this high incidental charge as my credit card remains tapped out because of it. It tried to contact the office to see if there was a mistake, and good luck finding a person at the local area.
Fantastic location overlooking Victoria harbour & downtown
My husband & I loved every minute of our 3 night stay Feb 27-Mar 1 at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort. We had booked a king size bed, harbour front room & we loved the magnificent view from our floor to ceiling windows. Turing our two large wing chairs around to face the water was a wonderful way to enjoy hours of peaceful viewing of float planes taking off & landing, ships arriving & departing, shuttle boats moving about & the endless people walking their dogs, jogging or just sitting out & enjoying coffee. The night view of the lights across the harbour of the Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel & more were a sight to behold. Our room was very comfortable. We liked having the convenience of a mini fridge but missed having an in room safe. There is an umbrella if you need one (we didn't!), cloth bag to use for shopping, robes & good toiletries (including conditioner). We didn't use the pool & the hot tub was closed for maintenance. It was disappointing that while the spa offers "couples massage", they only have one registered massage therapist so we did not go ahead with that. The on site restaurant Lure has a great happy hour daily from 3-5 pm with drink & appetizer specials. We sat at the window overlooking the harbour - what a great way to enjoy a couple of hours after a day of exploring Victoria. There is also a "grab and go" coffee shop, which offers sandwiches, muffins, coffee, etc. We took advantage of the walking path for a 5 minute walk over the bridge to downtown Victoria, where you'll find an abundance of shops, restaurants & sight seeing options. The hotel also has a free shuttle, which will take you & pick you up from any downtown location. We used this twice (the driver was not busy & kind enough to drop us off at CraigDarroch Castle early one morning) & we walked back to our hotel from there. Any staff we encountered were friendly & the property is spotlessly clean. We slept soundly, even with the all the goings on in the harbour. The ability to open our hotel windows to enjoy the sounds & fresh spring air was a real bonus. We will definitely chose to stay at the Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort next time we visit Victoria. Highly recommend!
I stayed at the hotel for work and attached a few vacation days to my business trip. The room was spacious and the staff was prompt in providing anything I needed. The pool and the Hot tub are nice. The hotel provides a free shuttle to the downtown core (I was not told upon arrival, but I was informed about it by the conference organizers). Very nice stay in a quiet location just a walk away from downtown.
I went with my wife to a seminar in Victoria and we stayed here for two nights. The staff were friendly and helpful (like almost everyone I met in Victoria). Our room had a king bed, a sitting area by the window, and nice amenities such as a coffee maker, iron, mini fridge, and even an umbrella. It had everything that a traveler could need. The hotel restuarant was really good. If you have breakfast, go with the forager omelette, it was delicious! The hotel overlooks the water and downtown Victoria. Downtown is a very short walk across the bridge. Don't worry, the bridge is very pedestrian friendly. The downtown area has a ton of places to eat and drink as well as points of interest. During my stay, I visited downtown at all random times, day and night, and I always felt safe. There is a bit if a homeless population that hangs out near the downtown side of the bridge, but I never saw them bother anyone. Overall, I loved Victoria and this hotel is a great place to stay during your trip!
