Check-in friendly, if slightly chaotic as I arrived shortly after 16:00 (check in time) and many tried to check in. Marriott BonVoy “Mobile Key” pre-arrival check in did not work, had to check in manually at reception which took a good 5-10 minutes. Check out was faster, not least because I paid for my stay in advance. Spacious, clean, and well maintained room (king bed, no water view but view over parking lot into the green beyond). Bed comfortable. Room quiet at night despite proximity to Club Lounge and Hotel Entrance. Blinds are working well. Bathroom in good shape, mold & hair free. Toilet paper single-ply only unfortunately thus one less star. Bathroom does not appear to have a fan. Housekeeping was offered daily. Dinner at Lure restaurant efficient and solid. A safe option for the less adventurous as the menue features common stables (i.e. ceaser salad, burgers, fries, chowder etc). Did not like colour palette used in the hotel and room (personal preference). Can recommend: a solid, clean and safe hotel.
The Delta Ocean Pointe is approximately 30 min. from the Victoria airport. We were delighted to learn upon a noon check in time that our room was ready. We booked a water view room and despite being at the side of the hotel, we had a view of the bay and inner harbour. The large window provided a wonderful morning view from the room. The hotel is in a great location. Easy walk over the bridge walkway to downtown, Chinatown, and the inner harbour. It was also a few minute walk to the Fairmont Empress Hotel and Legislative grounds and then 10 more minutes to Fisherman’s Wharf. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the more serene location when returning from a busy day. The hotel has good happy hours in the restaurant each day from 3pm to 6pm with a great water view and sun for most of the time. The patio has a cozy feel with heaters once it starts to get cool. The grounds out the back overlooking the water afforded many picture taking opportunities. We also took advantage of the ferry taxis at the Delta dock. Service was great and staff were pleasant and very helpful. Would stay again when visiting Victoria.
No go hotel
Was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Delta in Victoria. For the price you pay for a room you get absolutely no benefits a hotel provides. No coffee bar, no breakfast snacks, no shuttle services any where. Staff was rude at check in when we ask questions about shuttle and coffee bar. I've stayed at hotels for a fraction of the cost that actually cares about there customers.
We celebrated my husband’s 65th here. We stayed in a room on the 6th floor and had a lovely view of the bay. The room was well appointed - bed was comfortable. Sheets and bedding were crisp and clean. The bathroom was very nice. Staff were very friendly. The on-site restaurant Lure is excellent. A convenient underground parking garage is available at $20 per night. The hotel is located close to the main downtown area. Overall a great experience!
Average Delta with Good Food
First of all, based on my experience, I did not find the hotel resort-y. None of the amenities offered here made it stand out, though they were also not charging any resort fees to my knowledge. My arrival experience was quite pleasant. The city just experienced a power outage during morning rush and the systems were not running at full capacity, but the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk persevered and assisted the best they could. Although no upgrades were available apart from the club floor due to the hotel being full, I was able to get into my room at 10am and they offered the full suite of elite benefits as well as a guaranteed 4pm late check-out. The view from my room was underwhelming, facing another wing of the hotel as well as a construction site. The room itself was on the smaller side as well, and the design was not particularly special which was a shame considering this being a "resort" in a distinct destination like Victoria. My room and bathroom was also on the smaller side as well, though acceptable. I had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast the next morning just before my flight from YWH. The food was great, view from the patio was splendid and my server was clearly enjoying her job and instantly treated me like an old friend although we have never met. I wish I have written down her name somewhere - my apologies. The only "problem" was that my stay is still missing from my Marriott account now and it's been 10 days after check-out. Marriott hasn't been very helpful in resolving this so far, so I'm not sure where this is going. Everything considered I felt like a 4/5 was more appropriate. I wish 4.5/5 was an option as they would have deserved that, though the word "resort" used loosely in their name didn't really help the case.
