Sunpeaks Grand is Fancylike
Beautiful hotel with the best pool and hot tubs. Located in the heart of the village. Mt bike storage is handy. The large hallways and woodwork is so old school cool. Always a nice stay at the Grand. Can’t wait to go back.
A memorable get-away. Accommodations, service, and sheer beauty of the Grand and the surrounding Sun Peaks village were memorable, as were the fall colours on the mountain drive up and back. A "mini-Whistler" but not as pretentious.
Excellent place to get away
This is hotel is completely wonderful. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and spacious. Views were great. Location is right in the heart of the village. This is definitely the place to stay at Sun Peaks.
Molasses moved quicker than the staff in Mantles
At the Grand Hotel and conference centre in Sun Peaks and had breakfast at Mantles. What a rip off. $22.00 for an omelette and you get 1 yes ONE sausage with it. The first sausage was COLD and I sent it back. I ought to have tried it first though because it was a dinner sausage not a breakfast sausage. It was a dense garlic tasting sausage. The cooks and the servers were slower than molasses. And the place was not that busy, 4 tables. The next day I had bacon (3 strips) and it was better, but the service was just as bad. My wife had two scrambled eggs ($5) and one slice of toast (2.50) coffee is $5 a cup! There were two servers (and the manager had to help them) and it was a bit busier. The room was great, but the restaurant was very expensive for breakfast and the service was terrible. Service and food for dinner was much better and friendlier, thanks Shawne. We would visit this hotel again just not Mantles for breakfast. Great location walking distance to everything. $20 a night for parking was a bit excessive though.
Sun Peaks Grand stay was not so grand.
We arrived on a Friday night and went down to Mantles bar and grill for appies and some drinks. The menu was something to be desired. There were not many choices and the choices we did have were weird food that did not sound appetizing. The waitress took my drink order and walked away without taking my husbands. We were enjoying our Friday night date but was forced to hurry up as the restaurants closed at 9:30pm. We assumed they were open at least until 10pm on a Friday night. The staff were not overly friendly and the restaurant was outdated. For the price we paid, we expected service and more of an upgraded restaurant. The breakfast buffet was not worth the money. The coffee was not drinkable, the sausages you couldn’t even cut as they were hard. The toast got caught in the machine and started burning and filling the restaurant with smoke. Our bed offered no support and we woke up with sore backs. The pillows were super uncomfortable. Overall, for the prices we paid, it was not up to our standards. Sun Peaks is a world renowned ski resort and we expected our stay to reflect that. Don’t waste your money, stay somewhere else!
