Needs a Reno
My boyfriend and I went there for a romantic getaway weekend. Our room needed a renovation bad. Carpet and furniture were beat up, needs to be replaced. You can’t drink the water in the room, yet water bottles were not supplied in the rooms. We stayed for 2 nights and no one came to clean, restock towels and coffee/creamers. I had to call to get some towels brought to the room. Also the cleaning staff left a bag of dirty towels/sheets on our stairwell from the room below. No one came to clean our room and that bag sat there for hours. The hot tub was closed all weekend for cleaning. On Friday there were people in it when we arrived, then 2 hours later it was closed for cleaning. We looked at it, the water had been drained out. The workers said it would be up and running by the morning. Checked it out on Saturday, sign still up and half full of water. Stopped and asked the front desk, was told the hot tub was open. Told them they better go check it out as there is hardly any water in it. We were told the manager will check it out. Saturday night still not fixed but was told by front desk workers again that it’s open. Hot tub finally did get up and running when were checking out on Sunday . Staff had no idea what was going on. It’s a good thing the old lodge, food and the winter scenery were amazing otherwise our weekend away would have been a bust. I want to head back in the summer to see the lake at its best, but we won’t be staying there. We will go for the day trip and stay in a hotel in Lake Louise.
Awful - But the location is beautiful
The service was slow. It is super over priced. Room was dirty and in need of some serious overdue renovations and cleaning. The location was beautiful! If that's what you're going for then it'll be good, but everything else was poor. Don't have high expectations.
Emerald Lake is an absolute must see and stay. In winter it is magical and the Lodge does a fantastic job of making sure everything necessary is accessible. Cant beat the fire places! We came here 20 years ago for our honeymoon and coming back for our honeymoon was even more wonderful than I remembered. HAVE to try the chicken! It's been on the menu for just as long and a truly memorable meal and fantastic bang for your buck.
Never staying again
Don't charge over 200 dollars for a night just to secretly charge people extra money. Also the front desk staff offered no explanation as to why we were charged the 10 dollars at checkout except that it was a housekeeping fee. Which we were NEVER informed about.
A winter wonderland
This lodge is in an idyllic location, with snow piles so high it seemed wondrous. The food was phenomenal, the beds comfy and you can’t go wrong with a wood burning fireplace. The food was pricey though.
