You must stay here!! My fiancé and I stayed one night at the pyramid lake resort in the pyramid room with a king bed. The drive up to pyramid lake is absolutely beautiful. We had arrived very early and took our chances to see if our room was available for us to check in. The gentleman at the front counter contacted housekeeping to make sure our room was ready to go. Once he got confirmation from housekeeping that our room was ready he gave us our keys to our room. It was our first time in the area and asked him for trail guides for the trails around the resort. He also gave us a list of restaurants that are offering delivery to the resort since all restaurants were closed due to covid restrictions. The gentle was very informative and definitely knew the area well. Once we got back into our vehicle we took the little road up to the buildings, there were about 7 buildings with about maybe 8 rooms per building. We were in the last building on the west side in room 32 and faced the lake and mountains. There is a lot of parking spots available and near the door of your room. Once entering our room we noticed how clean it was. Unfortunately we arrived when it was cloudy so we were unable to see the mountains from our room. There was a very nice sized desk, sitting arm chair and a king sized bed. The bonus was the gas fireplace. On top of the gas fireplace was a small coffee bar with a single cup Keurig, with choices of decaf and regular coffee pods. There was also a mini fridge in the room. There is plenty of storage with drawers in the desk and a whole wardrobe near the bed. The king bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows in the drawer if needed. The bathroom was very spacious, only complaint was the vanity was on the small side. We decided to go on the Pyramid Lake Loop recommended by the front counter gentleman. The hike took you down to the Pyramid Lake island the bridge over to the island is definitely picture worthy. In the evening we ordered food from O’Shea’s that is located in the Athabasca Hotel. They had a delivery menu and provided free delivery. We ordered the nachos, wings and fries. (The portions were big!) The food was delivered in 30 minutes, came very hot and very fresh. I would definitely recommend ordering from them! After eating we headed out with our skates and went skating on the lake under the stars. The skating rink only had one flood light so it didn’t light up the whole rink, it was quite dark on one side of the ice. After skating there were two bonfires going with chairs around them. The resort wasn’t busy so my fiancé and I had a bonfire to ourselves when a family finished. They provided firewood and roasting sticks. Since we went at a time the restaurant was closed the lobby was offering muffins and coffee/tea or hot chocolate in the morning. Checkout was quick and easy! I would definitely go back to this hotel, we enjoyed every minute of it.
Best Stay in Jasper!
I cannot say enough good things about this property! Staff was amazing, room was spotless, and the views were breathtaking! LOVED that we could ice skate on the lake (and they have skate rentals too!) 2 Firepits to enjoy, and beautiful hiking trails! The only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer - but we are already planning a return visit! Thank you SO much for making our getaway incredible!
Beautiful quiet setting
We were here at New Years. Very clean and COVID safe with individual attached cabins. We had two rooms. One with two beds for our about kids and one with a queen bed and sitting area. We were able to eat family meals in the living area with fireplace and couch. Fridge and microwave were handy for meals we brought due to COVID. The room was very warm but we kept the window slightly open in the evening. Ordered breakfast sandwiches to take for our drive to the ski hill. They were huge and very good. The water pressure in the bath was very weak and the water did taste funny. We come to Jasper often and the water has never tasted like this. We had some bottled water and would bring it again if we stayed here. The skating rink was very busy but there is lots of room for walks far away from others. We have also hiked the trails behind the resort. The loop is a moderate hike with beautiful views. Can be icy. The hotel was full on our last night but we were able to very safely distance from others.
Loved our Mountain Vacation
We stayed at Pyramid Lake Resort Jan 3-5. The check-in process was easy and safe. Our temp was taken upon arrival. Our room was on the top floor (highly recommend for a better view). We ordered dinner from The Pines one evening. The food was INCREDIBLE tasting but I have to say the serving size was disappointing for the price. The 2nd evening we ordered from L&W for take-out and as usual, their food did not disappoint. Every day (often multiple times throughout the day) they were clearing the ice and taking care of it. They've cleared a larger than normal rink, I think to make space for people to skate and keep a distance from one another). Nets are set up and there's a fire pit beside the lake as well as beside reception. One thing to note - the hot tub isn't open right now. It's likely for the best but I didn't read that before going. We forgot our swimwear so we stopped in Hinton to buy new stuff as we read in other reviews that you could book it for 30-minute time slots. So we were a bit disappointed we bought bathing suits for nothing. Minor inconvenience however, in the grand scheme of things. Overall, I really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go again!
Great getaway in the mountains
This resort is in a perfect location right on the lake surrounded by mountains, just a short 5 minute drive outside Jasper townsite. Very nice rooms with great views. The outdoor hot tub is great (need to reserve when you check in). Prices are expensive in high season, but a great value during off season. The weather turned out great for us for the beginning of December. Dog friendly.
