Loved the pyramid room!
It’s a well kept resort with friendly, accommodating staff and beautiful surroundings. We stayed for the first two nights in the pyramid room with a private balcony, king size bed and blackout drapes. For the 3rd night, we were booked in the Cavell room as the pyramid room was booked for the night. There was an issue with the room and when we spoke with front desk, they were able to get us into a different room, which we really appreciated. The wifi is really spotty so if you have any need for wifi, you may want to look elsewhere. I highly recommend the pyramid room on the second level. The balcony is secluded but with a good view of the mountains.
BEWARE: NO CANCELLATION PERMITTED
I just tried to cancel a reservation - 43 days in advance - and was told there are no cancellations permitted. The agent told me that "at least 20 times on the site it said this". I could not find one statement like that. Just be aware that once you commit, you cannot get a refund.
We stayed 2 nights at this location beside Pyramid Lake in Jasper. Beautiful spot with clean modern rooms. It was the season opener yet everything was well organized and the staff helpful and friendly. My only complaint was inadequate soundproofing in the rooms. Everything else was great
Check in was fast, the staff are great. We stayed in a Cavell room, the bed was very comfortable and the room was recently renovated. The fireplace in our room was a nice touch, and the shared deck was nice to sit on to enjoy a glass of wine (no wine glasses in room so had to use plastic cups). Water pressure in the shower is terrible. We stayed on the lower level and could hear noise / stomps above us all night long. Wifi is slow. The location is close to town (5-10 min drive) - lots of wildlife to see on the drive up. The restaurant at the resort has a nice view of the lake, good place to have a morning coffee. The chalets in the upper part of the resort (where we stayed) don’t have a very good view of the lake. If you stay in the older cabins you’ll probably get a better view, but they do not appear to be renovated. The hot tub and spa were not operational during our stay. It’s an easy hike from the resort out to the little island on Pyramid Lake. The kayak rental is fun, even on a rainy day. There’s a horse stable just down the road which offers trail rides.
Beautiful view but amenities lacking
The location of the hotel was absolutely gorgeous - Pyramid Mountain is beautiful and the hotel sits directly across the lake from it. I went out in the evening out to where they had benches set up on the frozen lake to look at the stars and it was breathtaking. The room was also lovely, with AC/heating, a mini fridge, TV, a fireplace, and a balcony with a great view. The amenities weren't as great. We booked the deal where breakfast was included, only to be informed after booking that breakfast wasn't served on the weekends. We were told that we could use the vouchers at a restaurant in town, but it wasn't quite what we were expecting. The hot tub was a nice touch, but it's very old and run down, and the area doesn't feel very clean. My biggest issue was with the wi-fi. I understand when we arrived here that it is about a 10minute drive from town which influences the internet, but there was no mention of it when we booked. The wi-fi is terrible - cutting in and out, barely loading anything, wouldn't allow streaming to watch Netflix. I understand that this is a hazard of being in the mountains but the last place we stayed in had great internet so I think it should be mentioned when booking in case that's something that's important to you.
