Great Place to Stay
Just on our way home from a three day break in Banff. We were recommended the Moose Hotel by a friend and it did not disappoint! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had one breakfast and one dinner in Pacini's restaurant in the hotel and both meals were very good. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the Rocky Mountain Soap Company bath products in the shower were beautiful. There is a fridge in the room that was fine for drinks but it did freeze the food that we put in there. Otherwise, we had a great time and will definitely return! Thanks!
Great Location. Clean. Small Fridge and Microwave. Worth paying extra for a 4th floor balcony room overlooking Banff Ave! Restaurant food delivered to our room was really good. The only negative was the towels. They just don't match the exceptional standard of everything else in the room. We were expecting fluffy, luxurious, bath sheets. What you get are small, well worn, thin towels. They need to invest some money into towel upgrades. Otherwise, we will stay again!
Great hotel to relax in!
My partner and I stayed here for two nights for her birthday in December. We booked a king suite room, with a balcony. The staff were extremely pleasant and the booking in and out process was seamless. The room was large and well appointed, with a large separate bedroom, and living area. The living area had a large TV, above the nice warm working gas fireplace (complete with timer), which was great on the cold winter nights, and a small table. Theres also a kitchenette area, with fridge sink and actual cutlery. We didn’t spend a ton of time on the balcony, but the view of the mountains was amazing. The bathroom was spacious and modern with great amenities from Rocky Mtn. Soap. The use of the push dispensaries in the shower, in the Covid age, is a bit puzzling however. Dinner / Breakfast from the hotel restaurant room service was good, good portions for the price, and quick delivery. Great location in central Banff, close to everything. Will definitely return. Large size rooms, great service, and comfortable amenities.
Chalet type feel with a historic building preserved as the center piece of the hotel. Hot tub on the roof with great views. The walk to the hot tub was not fun in the cold, but well worth the relaxation. Walking distance to all the shops. Great service. Upgraded for half price to mountain view room.
“For your safety” has to go.....
Covid time. Quiet. And very good to be here. Rooms are nice. Everything works. So that’s the good news. 4/5 cause only a few things missing to make it 5/5. But here’s the thing. And it’s hotel industry wide so no points off here. For heaven’s sake, stop telling us the lack of any kind of service or room housekeeping is “for our safety”. It’s not. It’s using covid as a convenient excuse to skimp out on service, lower costs, and reduce labour overhead. And it doesn’t matter what the hotel says at all. That’s what it is. They clean the room (hopefully) when we leave. Right? So what is the toxicological difference to cleaning it when we’re out for the day snowboarding, or gone for good? Nothing. You can order supplies like Kleenex and towels and they put them in your room when you’re out. Great. Yay! But again, what’s the difference? Nothing. Hotel operators will take any excuse to lower costs in a cut throat business. I understand. Remember when the signs went into the hotel rooms asking you to “save the planet” by not having fresh towels each day? Small writing. Towels hung up won’t be replaced. Negative option. Save hot water. Save labour costs. Save material costs. Again, I get it. But don’t insult us. The laundry thing is done to save small dollar amounts per unit stay per day multiplied by a year in consideration of the bottom line. But blaming a disease that kills thousands so you don’t clean rooms anymore (solve that paradox) is scraping the bottom of the barrel. You’re not alone, so no points off. But cynicism doesn’t feel good when I’m hanging up my towel.
