Amazing Amazon Experience
We spent 3 nights and wished it had been a full week. Amazing location, right in the heart of the Amazon and by Rio Negro. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, and the tour guides knew their way around the jungle, which made for incredible fauna and flora sightings. Great local food (river fish, always fresh fruits) with a sophisticated touch. Good drinks as well to relax after spending the day exploring the surroundings. The room was amazing and provided a very balanced experience between comfort (AC, cable, bar) and nature (balcony with a view of the jungle). I recommend without hesitation.
Best time ever!
We spent 4 nights/5 days at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge and had an amazing experience. Meal options offered daily were exotic, fresh and tasty. You can see the care and love the add to it. Staff is courteous, helpful and accommodating, both on the pre-booking process and during our stay where they answered to any queries or requests we had. Our accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We can not fault anything about the tours offered in our package. The timings were perfect so you did something everyday but it did not feel overwhelming; it was a mixture of sightseeing and also having time to relax by the swimming pool or by the river sipping a caipirinha or a beer. :-) We highly recommend staying there. We had a great time!
An incredible experience - 4D 3N
This place was incredible. If I could go back for a longer stay, I would without any hesitation. The hotel staff and guides were friendly and helpful and invested in guest satisfaction. I was picked up from the Hotel Villa Amazônia in the morning and transported the 2.5 hours by van to the lodge, with a pit stop in the middle. Not the most exciting drive, but lots of greenery. On arrival to the lodge luggage was organized for deliver to rooms, room keys distributed, and a short orientation to the property and the individual itinerary. The room: I stayed in one of the bungalows, which was well maintained and very comfortable given the high powered AC and nice firm bed. Afternoon naps were great in the hammocks on the screened in porch facing out into the jungle - you could see and hear the monkeys! Tours and guides: I can only speak for the 4D 3N package, but it's so convenient that all of the tours are arranged by the lodge. The guides come around during meal times to let you know what to expect and bring (always bring water). It was a good mix of activities land/water, active/passive. The guides were what made the experience though - they were usually from the area and had a deep connection to the Amazon - they took a lot of pride in each tour. The facilities: Top notch, comfortable. It has everything you might expect and maybe a little more. The dock bar was a nice place to be dropped off after a tour by boat - especially if you wanted to jump in the river. Since it rains almost every day (RAINforest after all), the pool could be a little on the cool side, which was nice. There is a gym, but I didn't use it - too much else to do, like a nap in one of the hammocks or climbing the observation tower to see out over everything. Food: High quality, you'll never go hungry. They had a similar breakfast menu to the Hotel Villa Amazônia, which was a treat. For lunch they typically had a buffet featuring local Brazilian cuisine. For dinner they had a nice menu with local and more accessible options. I went with the local ones and was very pleased - be sure to try the Piraucu (huge Amazonian fish). Wifi: It exists, but only in the reception/lounge/bar area. Slow, but it works. But really you go here to disconnect, unwind, and appreciate the nature.
Celebrating 70th birthday
We wanted to experience the Amazon jungle experience and were truly astounded by what Anavilhanas laid on for our 4 day stay. Everyday we had activities in the morning and afternoon with exceptionally helpful and courteous staff and guides. We packed so much in. Good food, clean air, excitement, jumping into the water all the time. We were quite impressed with a guide called Krishna Rooplal but I have to say that others were brilliant too. The accommodation in the lodge on thatched cottages was very comfortable.
Amazing 3 days at Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge!
Can't say enough amazing things about this experience - except that I wish it lasted longer! The entire jungle lodge team was great and made us feel very welcome - the guides, dining staff, welcome team, bartenders. The lodge itself is impeccably clean and beautiful. Budget some time to relax in the hammocks and by the pool between your boating activities!
