Copa Day Spa
The actual spa part of the day was superb. The massage therapists gave me and my husband lovely massages, we felt very relaxed. Maria was especially helpful at the Spa reception desk. Sauna and steam rooms were great. The light lunch included in the package was nice and more than we expected, as it was described as “light lunch” not that we’re complaining. We got a 3 course meal which was lovely. The only reason we’re not giving 5 stars is because we did not feel the staff who were serving lunch were as attentive as we would have liked. We had to keep asking for things, service at our own hotel which is nowhere near as expensive is better. Maybe it’s because they knew we weren’t staying there, but still we were paying so that’s not an excuse. What we saw of the hotel was beautiful.
This Hotel Is Special
Stayed here with my mother after leaving a cruise ship. It was stunning. Beautiful hotel with really friendly staff, lovely bedrooms with gorgeous linen and comfy beds. The food was fabulous and the choice at breakfast was second to none. We loved it and are just disappointed it’s so far away. Would love to stay here again. The Food in the Asian restaurant was delicious.
High expectations from homepage photos not fulfilled
The high expectations we had from pictures from the hotels homepage as well as photos posted from the hotel on Tripadvisor were not fulfilled. The Hotel is relatively old and worn out. The service in the reception was very nice and friendly.
Great Place! Best in Rio
We booked the Belmond Copacabana and loved it. Loved it so much that we ate two of the three nights at the hotel. We never do that. We almost go out of our way to not eat at hotel restaurants but we got in late and it was raining so we took a chance. You felt like royalty! Not only because Royalty and rock stars have stayed there but because they made you feel that way. With risk came rewards. We ate the first night at Pergula Restaraunt (the same place that serves breakfast). We were exhausted from our travels but it was great. Great view of the pool and outside to the beach. Very good food. We found the best routine. Tour for a few hours in the morning and then go to the beach and pool in the afternoon. on the last night we went to the restaurant named Mee. it was asian and we had great sushi. I would rate it with the best sushi anywhere at a very reasonable price (maybe that is due to a strong dollar but...). The beach area was very safe. They guarded it the whole time so you could get up and go for a walk and know your stuff was safe. We took our phones and valuables with us just to be safe but you could leave your bags and know someone was watching it. Vendors would come by and offer drinks from one of the many public stands. Very nice and cheap. I had a hour massage from one that set up close to our area and it was great.
Old school service
Stayed for 4 nights in a suite, which was extremely spacious and comfortable. Only complaint was no tea cups, I am British I don’t drink coffee. The breakfast is fantastic, great pastries, a veritable feast with lots of gluten free options. But for me, what made this trip so special - the service. Superb. Every time we asked, we got an immediate response. We attended the Rio and Samba party, great food, samba band were brilliant, and the service from Ricardo was exceptional. What a credit he is to the hotel. First time at the hotel, we are already planning our next trip. I could not recommend more highly.
