Nice heritage property with good location and amenities
We enjoyed our stay at the Copacabana palace. The swimming pool was perfect, a little chilly but a good sized pool. We stayed in the one bedroom suite with pool view, along with the pool view we had a good view of the ocean. We ate at the Pergula restaurant one night which was great, the food was delicious and the ambience with the music was also nice. We did not eat at ME or th Italian restaurant, they both looked too formal. We booked the tour of the Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf mountain and the selaron steps. They provided us with a great guide and driver, which made our visit very enjoyable. Will definitely stay at the Copacabana palace the next time we are there in Rio.
An amazing stay
An exceptional property with exceptional service, from the moment I arrived I was treated in an extremely friendly and efficient manner. Room was ready for early check in, room was upgraded to ocean view and room was beautiful. Food was excellent at hotel MEE restaurant. Stay could only have been better if I could stay longer and be there on vacation with my wife instead of on business trip.
Luxury in Brazil
One of the most luxury hotel I like to stay on it . I stayed there 5 nights and location was perfect in Copacabana beach area . Suite was facing the Atlantic Ocean with view of Copacabana beach area . Services are unique plus team is very professional . swimming pool area is very nice . I like the Breakfast buffet specially special buffet for fresh fruits on daily basis . Around the hotel many cafes and restaurants specially Middle East cafe with Middle East cuisine just two minutes walk from hotel . I recommend it for families and for VIP solo travelers .
The best hotel in Rio - AMAZING!!!
The vibe of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. A piece of history in a great location that oozes class and unpretentious, personalised and efficient customer service. I am usually after more modern/minimalist hotels but have had zero regrets for choosing this hotel. It is well maintained and the period features are simply beautiful and delivered in a fresh manner. The hotel has three outstanding restaurants two of which with Michelin stars. Breakfast by the pool is amazing - try the green juice! Rooms are individually decorated - loved the Etro toiletries! The suggestions provided by the hotel were spot on. I cannot wait to be back!
Beautiful hotel, can improve service to be truly memorable
Hotel with lots of charm, had booked a nice, huge suite (second time I stayed). By hotel policy, rooms are available from 4pm, so that’s very late, but the hotel also accepts late departure. The service (Pergula restaurant) is polite but english is very sketchy, a bit odd for such a hotel, it’s better to know a few key words in portuguese. Stayed in the Belmond Cataratas, and the Copacabana Palace can’t compare. You get much more in Iguaçu for what you pay (in Copacabana you don’t get a coffee in room for free, and to get tea you have to call room service, whereas in Iguaçu you get free minibar (only refill is chargeable), and of course the hotel in Iguaçu, being isolated, is less crowded with non-staying guests, so service is more intimate. The spa was a big disappointment: I tried to book ahead of my arrival by contacting them by mail but got no answer (twice). They said they didn’t received the mails. Then I booked personally when I arrived. The treatment was not so good, I think by lack of good understanding of english by the therapists. My massage was a bit strong after being too soft, and the facial was different from my husband (his spa therapist « disappeared » for 10 min more than mine and so he ended having less facial care than I did). The price is competitive, but unfortunately service was not on par. The Sunday brunch was lovely, the breakfast has a good display but I’ve had more variety in Asia (or even in Belmond Cataratas), and the coffee is terrible - better take a double expresso! Doesn’t need much to become a top hotel that offers a great experience to guests... but it’s the small details that are important.
