Fabulous customer service
We stayed in 4 sanctuary hotels during our stay and i feel the staff at Chobe Chilwero were by far the best. The chef, Fhilious ?, was amazing. He cooked separate meals for my husband, who does not like garlic and when i was suffering from the effects of my malaria tablets, he cooked me plain chicken and rice and clear soup. All the staff were very kind to me when i felt unwell (for 24 hours). The Training Manager, Mandy, was also so caring and supplied me with rehydration sachets.
AMAZING! Please see review.
Chobe Chilwero is a modern day resort along the Chobe river. Not only are the scenes from the resort top notch, the game drives are possibly the best in all of Africa. During our 3 day stay we saw 4 of the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, and Elephant). Our guide Kux was fantastic and had many personal stories to share about his time growing up in the Delta and as a guide at Chobe. We highly recommend him as well! He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great game viewing experience. Location: A (right next to park entrance and beautiful view of Chobe river) Accommodations: A Food: A Hospitality/Service: A Guides: A Top notch experience and resort!!!
Visit with friends
We visited this camp with several friends for two nights. The customer service is outstanding, the staff are extremely professional and our safari guide was excellent. His name was Lets and if provided the opportunity; request him, it will be one of the best decisions that you make. He was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful and personable. I have been on several safaris during the last few years and this camp and staff are some of the best. The main lodge is beautiful and well maintained. The setting near the river was great and allowed for safaris from a boat!! The chalets are nicely furnished, fully stocked and very clean. The housekeeping staff are excellent and very thorough. I would also like to acknowledge Ms. Allison Botha, our travel agent/booking person with Sanctuary Retreats who was very professional and helpful. As noted, I have been on several safaris and lived on the continent; I give this camp one of my strongest and positive recommendations.
Wonderful visit to Chobe
My spouse and I recently returned from a trip to Botswana and spent two nights at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero. We had a tremendous experience there and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting the area. We spent time on the water nearby including a lunch cruise/safari that was fantastic. Within a short distance of the lodge we saw many animals including a pride of 4 lions (two of whom made it into the compound while we were there), a leopard and a group of rhino's in nearby the nearby Chobe park. If you have a choice in guides, ask for Chipo she was tremendous. The facility is very modern and appears to have been updated fairly recently. It is well maintained and the staff was friendly, helpful and made you feel like you were at home. Their is a resident large family of baboons as well as other animals in the compound.
Very nice accomodations. Food is excellent. Always has water so you do a boat game drive regardless of the season. Of our four camps, this was our least favorite guide, but we still saw a huge amount of game, especially elephants
