We booked a week-long vacation to Atlantis for August. The country shut down all borders late July, and so as per the booking agreement with Atlantis, I would be refunded all my money. They said it would take 90 days, which is insane. It's been over 90 days and still no refund. I believe this criminal property will keep my money and is just lying to me. It took JetBlue literally two seconds to credit my card back when the same trip was cancelled with them. What's your problem Atlantis? Do not book here until you can guarantee they won't have to cancel your trip and run away with your money! Do the right thing, Atlantis! A luxury property operating like a budget flea bag motel. That's ridiculous, especially in this global economy and crisis.
Amazing family staycation!
We spent a family weekend at the Atlantis. It was the most amazing staycation, our 5 year old enjoyed his time at the pool, the water park and at the Dolphin encounter. The kids club was amazing they took him to the Fish Hospital and he still talks about it. The highlight of our stay was the Ronda the Italian restaurant , I had a toffee rib eye and it was amazing and the manager Mauricio gave our night a real taste if Italy. The kids play area was right next to the restaurant so our son enjoyed his time as we ate dinner! My cherry on top was the spa treatment and facial!
Honeymoon package refund scam
My wife and I booked our honeymoon to the Atlantis paradise island for the month of April. We were so excited to go. Due to covid 19 we had to postpone our wedding and our vacation. I booked our flight and hotel reservations through a third party website and I bought the honeymoon package through Atlantis. I got my refund through the third party back within 30 days. In March, I called Atlantis to cancel the honeymoon package and they told me it will take 60 to 90 days but they will expedite it for me. 60 days came and no refund yet, I called they told me it will take 90 days for it to go through. I waited, then months later I called multiple times and still no refund. They kept on saying there accounting department is behind and they are still taking reservations for later dates. I called last month and yelled at them for not giving my refund. It has been more then 180 days since I cancelled my reservations. I just received my money back. This company needs to change there laws around about getting peoples money back during hard times. My wife and I decided to never book here again because of this situation. We could of used that money earlier this year to go on a small trip closer to where we lived. Never book directly with Atlantis, book through a third party then you will get your refund back at a reasonable day.
This was so great!
My family and I had the time of our lives here. There's really nothing to complain about. The hotel and service were great. The quality of the service was a 10/10 and the food was too! There were plenty of awesome activities and the fun could've lasted forever.
Covid nightmare/refund scam
We took a family vacation here over spring break in 2019. It was beautiful and a great trip. We booked again for the same time in April in 2020. However Covid hit and we were forced to cancel our trip and request a refund. Flash forward to now October 5th and we are still waiting on a refund of almost $4000. We were originally told 60-90 days. Called at 60 days and they said it would be 90. Called at 90 and now they are basically telling us there is no time table for refund because their “accounting department” is behind on issuing refunds but that they will “expedite” it to that department. They are saying it is because of limited staffing. However if you call to book a reservation someone of course is working in that department. It is a huge scam. I’m so scared that we will never get our money back that we’ve even spoken with our credit card company about disputing the charges. We will never go back because of how they’ve treated this situation. If you look at other sites about Atlantis there are hundreds of people in the same boat as my family. I would think twice about ever booking at this resort. If you do, do it through a 3rd party and not the resort directly like we did, maybe then you will have a shot at getting your money back if something were to happen.
