Let me start by saying the Exumas was BEAUTIFUL. We travel quite a bit and this was by far the most stunning water we have ever seen. I would love to go back but we will try a different resort. The sandals here is outdated. The service was mediocre. The girls at the coffee shop act annoyed every time you go in there. The food was very much “all inclusive “ quality. The pool bar was complete chaos. No system in place for ordering. They’d skip over you if someone they knew walked up. You’d order a particular drink and they’d mix whatever they felt like making and hand it to you and since you’ve been standing there waiting for 20 minutes you just take what you can get. We even watched one of the bartenders condense down the different bottles of liquor into the single bottles of other types of alcohol at the end of the day. Just a mess. The landscape and scenery is stunning. Other than that- everything was okay. Just super pricey to be okay though.
Sandals has refused to give us refund even though they have closed the resort down for this wk. Our trip was from 5/26- 5/31. There are no flight going from or to the island and the resort is close by Sandals. This should be a NO BRAINER as far as refunding the money for services that were not provided.
Great service, better than average food and a lovely beach.
This was my first time staying at Sandals and I was pleasantly surprised. The island is small so not much to do outside of the resort but getting to the airport, through customs and to the resort was a breeze. This resort is older for sure, the room we stayed in wasn't swanky but it was large, clean, had a comfy bed and offered a nice view. I really enjoyed the service which is not perfect but much better than most all-inclusive resorts. I also enjoyed that the resort is smaller than most. You can easily walk to the beach, various pools, shops and restaurants. The beach is beautiful and we enjoyed that it is kind of like a cove so no rough waves. I loved the hammocks over the water! I found the food to be pretty good. We really loved the Drunken Duck pub, the french restaurant and the breakfast buffet was so much better than most. Is it expensive? Yes. But we liked it enough that we plan to return in the fall. If you go, be sure and take the excursion to see the pigs, it was so much fun.
Sandals refuses to provide a refund even though they closed the resort when we were supposed to go in March. Left with no other choice we rescheduled for the end of May. We were just informed that the country is not allowing international flights and our flight was canceled. Sandals stills refuse to give a refund even though both times it was not our choice to cancel. Due to the current world conditions it is ridiculous sandals will not refund money so people can pay their bills and feed their family’s.
First Time at Sandals
I was excited to visit a Sandals for the first time, but we had a rocky start. We had upgraded to a butler suite a few days before our trip, but we were nearly put in the wrong room, then after waiting a few hours for the right room to be ready, our suitcases were lost until I went to the front desk and found out they were put in the original room. So the first day was a mess and not the best first impression. However, that changed as over the next few days. The spa was great, with a beautiful pool and hot tub area few use. The swim-up bar at the main pool was a blast and our butlers did better as the days went on. We did the swimming pig and iguana excursion. The pigs look like they could use some good vet care which is concerning but the iguanas were the highlight of our trip! I have been told the beach at Emerald Bay is normally flawless, even though the water was beautiful, guest were picking up a lot of garbage that washed up along with the seaweed, maybe because there were storms nearby that week? The property is beautiful and food was good, drinks were GREAT! We did decide to try Sandals again and will be going to Grenada soon. The couples atmosphere is fun, and very relaxing.
