This was the perfect place to end our honeymoon trip. We stayed in a 5th floor loft suite where we were greeted with wine and cheese which was very appreciated! Hotel had funky décor, free snacks/soft drinks and a nice breakfast buffet. They offer you some free drinks with happy hour which was just okay but hey, it was free! Hotel is in a great location if you need to take a short uber to nearby neighborhoods but also walk to The Rocks, Opera House, etc. Shout out to Nathan and Jay who always had a smile on their faces – they were both so kind to us and always made us feel so welcome answering our questions. Our only negative was the room was a bit dirty and definitely could benefit from a fresh coat of paint and cleaner on the carpet. Also the shower was a bit musty and bathroom in general very small.
One night at the hotel felt like we were away for a week. The rooms were gorgeous, we were spoilt with bubbles and a cheese board and made to feel so special! The decor was funky and the bar and food fab! Highly recommend a stay.
Absolutely in love with this hotel!
This is an amazing and unique hotel located on a renovated wharf. The design of the interior and the rooms is hip, modern, and quirky. I loved my vaulted ceiling and comfy seating areas. My bathroom had a deep soaking tub and a large walk in glass shower. The complimentary mini bar is stocked with soda, juice, beer, and wine every day. I was greeted with a goodie bag and canvas tote upon entering my room. The hotel staff provided top notch service. After 22 hours of travel, I was excited that I was allowed to get cleaned up and shower in the gym locker room before my room was ready. A cozy pool and hot tub are right next to the work out room. Both spaces open to an enclosed terrace with deep cabanas to lounge in. Free laundry facilities were an added perk and allowed me to pack a little lighter than usual. The hotel is located near the botanic garden. It was probably a 15-20 minute walk to the opera house and the main ferry hub. The neighborhood is quiet and more of a residential feel compared to the CBD. There is a great coffee shop/cafe just around the corner. For those who are interested, the walk to the Oxford street gayborhood nightlife was also about 15-20 minutes. I will stay at this hotel again when I get back to Sydney!!!
I met up with an old friend to celebrate our 50th birthdays and chose to stay at the Ovolo. The moment we walked in we were welcomed and checked in by lovely staff who were so willing to please. Our room was awesome, loved the decor, ability to open windows, cleanliness and of course free mini bar and snacks. Breakfast was so enjoyable and delicious. Will definitely return to enjoy this experience again.
We had a great two days staying at Ovolo. From the instant we arrived we were welcomed by happy attentive staff who showed genuine interest in our stay. Very hip and groovy. Great room, free mini bar, breakfast and happy hour amazing with an hour of free drinks. Great location for walking to art gallery and Botanic gardens. Saving our pennies to stay again.
