Thank you. All our needs met
We needed to be in Sydney for medical reasons. The hotel was close to the hospital. 2 of us stayed in the hotel room the whole time we were in Sydney. We were so comfortable. Having a window that opens. A view of the city at night. Watched over the people walking past.(checking out all their dogs as well) Watched the yachts bobbing in the water. The room was trendy and light and airy. The staff were so lovely, they even chased up some information about the history of the building for us. I look forward to staying there again when we are in the city going to something more fun then the hospital.
Elegance, exceptional service and delicious food!
Ovolo Woolloomooloo was our first choice to stay and experience Sydney at its best - while filming for a global project. Unique rooms with stylish decor - Ultraroo Rock n'Roll theme our favourite) Alibi Restaurant is one that Sydney-siders know and love - so we were spoilt - Chef never disappoints. We started out with a few nights booked and ended up staying for three weeks - the service, attention to detail and sophisticated eclectic spaces made it a super lavish stay for all. We sincerely thank Wahida Matsuri and the dedicated team in taking care of our moving schedules on a daily basis! Love this hotel - rooms with a view, wharf-life, decadent trips away always - cannot recommend highly enough! Looking forward to lockdown easing so that we can head back to the bar like a regular! Thank you.
Stayed at the back end of August and unfortunately, we didn't have a great time. The room cleanliness was a let down and so was the maintenance in the room. The bathroom was mouldy but the worst part was the aircon. It was consistent at 18 degrees. FREEZING. It must be a problem in the entire hotel as hardly anyone else was staying in the hotel and it's not like they didn't have any other rooms. My partner booked the hotel and he was disappointing. The rest was fine.
My slice of heaven
What was once a dark, masculine hotel has shed its identity and taken on a light, bright and somewhat quirky persona instead. The foyer welcomes you with glittering fairy lights on arrival and the staff in their slightly trendy get-ups are utterly delightful. Complimentary afternoon tasty canapes and drinks are a super lovely start to your stay with a generous menu including oysters, charcuterie selection and truffle buffalo mozzarella crisp breads.... wash that down with a delicious crispy white and you have won my heart. The bedrooms are generous sized and modern appointed room there was a decor welcoming without being tacky and try-hard. That bed has great pillows. Nice touches like a complimentary mini-bar and sweetie goody bag brought out my -child while the amenities in the bathroom were all totally grown up. A complimentary tote bag was another generous touch. The wifi and in-room gadgetry was clever and fantastic... nothing to fault and the view was fantastic over to the naval yards, always interesting on the eye when nothing to watch on the tv. Again its a freebie when it comes to breakfast which was a ban-up great continental breakfast buffet, but really good breaky here including eggs, smoked salmon, the best mini muffins, bircher, coffee, cheeses, toasties etc etc etc etc .... and if thats not enough with the money you save on bevs while in-house you can lash out on some eggs and bacon or other cooked a-la-carte items if you wish.
Great hotel tarnished by room service food
It’s a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are very large and were well cleaned and kept. The staff are very friendly but staying through COVID means that you are very limited to what you can and can’t do. We felt that given the lack of ability to go out to dine, the room service food choice offered by Ovolo would be better. It was very disappointing as the food was inedible and weird. Shame as everything else is top notch. Would absolutely stay again but would give Ovolo dining a pass next time. Thank you.
