Overnight In the heart of old Sydney
This Stunning old building is part of Australian history. Thick stone walls block any noise from outside, and is a short few minute stroll to Sydney Harbour. Staff are first rate. Nothing is too much trouble, Check-in in the snug foyer is just a few steps away from stairs leading up to the rooms. The building does not have lifts. The public areas are spotless. My room was very small, but perfectly formed. A crisp clean bathroom had all the mod cons. The bed was super comfy with both pillow and matress protectors present. The dark colour scheme is deeply relaxing. There isn't a desk (there isn't room) but there are spaces in the public areas to work. Linen was clean and good quality. Like most hotels, there is no blanket, only 2 sheets around a doona. Air cond worked well. Breakfast took a little while to come, but was delicious. I had the full English, with coffee (strong), plus a take away. I'd have liked another night and would happily come back.
Great spot - perfect for business trips
Greta location, so close to the harbour and Circular key. Have stayed here previously when in Sydney for business - the beds are comfy, the rooms are simple and have all you need and the location makes it perfect for a pre-work walk/run before a day of meetings. Close to bars/pubs for an after work drink and dinner too.
Smallest Bathroom in a Hotel I've Ever Seen
I've seen bigger bathrooms on Cruises and RVs. Yes it has everything you need, but no where to put anything and a shower door that opens 12 inches and I'm not kidding. I realize they want to keep the character of the building in our case a huge entry with an unusable fireplace. They could have taken a couple feet from this area and made the bathroom still small, but much more useable. The room itself was quite nice and location is perfect in the Rocks.
Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of The Rocks. The staff were fantastic, warm and friendly. There is no lift to the upper floors so if you’re not a mobile person keep this in mind. Despite the central location the hotel was really quiet. Highly recommended
Terrific location, warm friendly hotel
Stayed here for a 'special' weekend with my husband as we have stayed at a variety of hotels in Sydney and we particularly like the location and 'specialness' of this hotel in particular - it's a gorgeous boutique hotel in a historic area Location - middle of historic The Rocks distract and easy (and interesting) walk through The Rocks and across the harbour to the Opera House (<10mins) Rooms - spacious, stylish design, very comfortable; we were upgraded to the balcony suite on the top floor ... be wary of the steps (no lift ~3 flights - nothing major, but be warned if you don't enjoy 'open' stairwells; windows open in the rooftop suite only Bathroom - clean and spacious Dining - quality breakfast in cosy downstairs restaurant, small bar area but groovy Service - pleasant boutique hotel attitude and care Would we stay again? Absolutely! Hope this was helpful - DM me with any questions
