Pre- cruise holiday
We are Accor members so as we were going on a cruise this seemed like the perfect choice for our hotel. Arrived Saturday afternoon to sail out Monday so 2 nights were booked. First problem - no lift First room they gave us smelt damp and was the size of a postage stamp! Second floor no lift was a problem for me as I’m on the wait list for hip replacement. The staff were very happy to change our room and even upgraded us to a suite which was ok, carpet was stained, room smelt musty and damp, bathroom very small but on the plus side the bed was very comfortable so that was good Sunday and Monday mornings we were woke up at 7am sound of wheely bins being moved around and also loud banging outside The keys to get into the rooms never worked for 2 days so after going down stairs to our room and trying to get into the room with no success we had to go all the way back up stairs to tell reception who redid the key and down we go again only to find it doesn’t work so they have to use their room pass to let us in - apologising again for key not working - this happened 6 times in 2 days Tv wasn’t working so they had to reset that as well Best thing about the hotel was the location and the bed Would definitely never go there again and would not recommend it either Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else - definitely not 5 stars
Room 212 was excellent . The room was a good size with view of the Opera House. The room was very clean . The bed and pillows were good quality and very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with a great shower. The Harbour Rocks Hotel is an interesting place to stay with it historical feel with a couple of quite areas to chill out and relax. The staff were friendly and helpfull and the bottle of wine for our special celebration was a pleasant surprise. The best part is the location of the Harbour Rocks Hotel in Circular Quay
Great small hotel
If you want an intimate hotel experience, located in one of the best locations in Sydney, this is THE hotel. Mind you, as an historic site building, no elevator could be installed, except one for luggage. Three floors could be daunting for some. Not for us. Views of the opera house are not from all rooms, so ask for those in rooms 310 = 316, even numbers have east views. Wonderful! The staff was attentive from check-in. They referred us to other places to eat, shop and move about, although they did suggest the 2 restaurants associated connected to the hotel. All we can say, it has been a great experience.
Its a boutique hotel in a great location. Its so central to everywhere, its small and quirky, No good if you dont like stairs as there is no elevator. Its got a good restaurant and bar associated to it. Service good
Stuffy, small room, Unattentive staff
Great location but can’t help feel this sis a hotel that misses a trick. Service is very basic, staff aren’t attentive and few and far between. Rooms are very small, in need of a refresh feeling a bit worn, TV basic (no Netflix etc) and quite stuffy. No elevator. Good for a leisure stay not recommended for a Business stay.
