This little hotel has a great location and beautiful staff. We had two rooms. One of the rooms, a short distance from each other, which was perfectly fine by us. Room 1, the choice of colour of carpet wasn’t the best. It was cream in colour and looked like it could do with a deep clean. The bathroom was tiny, no bigger than two toilet cubicles put together. We also had to make sure the bathroom door was closed as we could hear people from presumably the courtyard. I had the worst night sleep as the pillow was like sleeping on a rock. I am not usually hard to please. The mattress however was perfectly fine. Apart from the floors it appeared clean. Room two, flooring fine, bathroom even smaller than room 1. Same deal with pillows. This room had a damp smell. However the worst part was windows do not appear to be double glazed so you can hear every drunk person walking down Harrington Street. As I said the staff were lovely and are one this hotel’s biggest assets, and should be commended on their service.
Not a 5 star experience at all
This is the final destination at the end of a 2 week holiday and so very disappointing. We have experienced some truly exceptional boutique hotels on our trip but this does not come close to the advertised 5 star. #1 very small room not even enough space to open our suitcases! #2 no TV or I should say no working TV which is very disappointing after a long day and the hotel staff suggests you ‘watch something on your smart phone’ #3 the bathroom has no space for toiletries other than the floor 😕 #4 can hear every word/sound from adjacent rooms. On the plus side: pleasant staff trying their best, clean room and quirky communal space. The location of this hotel is really the only redeeming feature as it is 5 min walk from SOH. I will be speaking with my travel agent when I return to the UK as I would not recommend this as a 5 star hotel it is 3 at best. Extremely disappointing.
Great Location - Lovely Hotel
We stayed here for four nights at the end of January 2020 - the hotel is in a great location - in the Rocks and close to Circular Quay. Our room had great views of Sydney Opera House the only down side was that the bathroom was a little small. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the happy hour drinks in Eric's Bar. We will stay here next time we are in Sydney.
We have been at the Harbour rocks for 5 nights and cannot think of a better Sydney location and just 5 mins from Circular Quay. The Harbour rocks area is very bohemian full of quaint little lanes and a superb street market at weekends. The hotel itself has so much character and the service from all the staff is first class. A special thanks to the night manager Moss who greeted us warmly last night when we returned from a day and evening at Manly... the Night cap before we went to bed was much appreciated! We will definitely return to this super boutique hotel.
Pre Cruise accommodation
Beautiful boutique hotel in a Heritage Building, we loved our stay here and will certainly return. They upgraded us to a larger room which was a bonus. Walking distance to cruise departure, and all touristy sights. Made use of our Accor benefits at the restaurant.
