Due to 2020’s restrictions, we were looking for something safe and a little private. We definitely found it in Paperbark Camp. The first night we stayed in an Original tent then in the Deluxe for the next two nights. The difference between the two being size and a bath. It’s a wonderful private spot amongst the bush. There is no electricity in the tent, so no TV and if you want to charge your phone, you can charge it in the Gunyah. This is where you can enjoy a drink or cocktail and where your delicious meals are served. Your stay comes complete with a delicious three course breakfast and dinner. So yummy! You are then free to check out the delights of Jervis Bay and surrounds. We did a dolphin cruise which was wonderful. This stay despite the rain one day, was delightful. We loved it so much we have rebooked to go for my birthday in three months when it’s summer and nice and warm. Highly recommend!
Great spot - unique experience. Our stay in an “original” safari tent at Paperbark camp was great. Tents are very well appointed with everything you could need for a few nights off the grid “glamping”. Lots of thoughtful extra’s such as hot water bottles and a hot flask delivered to the front verandah for an early morning cuppa. Outdoor bathroom is rustic but shower is excellent and water piping hot. Restaurant is superb and food by Chilean chef is outstanding - breakfast and dinner included. Lovely warm communal lounge area with open fire and fire pit for a cosy pre-dinner cocktail. Staff are extremely attentive and very friendly. Love the birdsong and kookaburra’s laughing all day long. Can get chilly from late afternoon so bring winter woollies, ugh boots/slippers and a good book to snuggle up with one of the many blankets provided...
Off the Grid
The accommodation was beautiful and the staff, service and food were amazing. Its down a dirt track off Wollamia Road but only 5-10 minutes from Huskisson centre. Bush setting, luxurious tents, charming bathrooms, no power points, tv's or kids.
Peaceful luxury in the wilderness
This was our second time staying at Paperpark and we absolutely loved our experience. The staff was so welcoming, calm, and helpful - they truly care about making the most of your time at the camp. Their smiles are genuine, recommendations are thoughtful, and hospitality is next level. The amenities are simple, yet elegant, with the right mix of camping and luxury. We recommend a trip to all our friends and look forward to coming back in the future!
Secluded bliss — peace and quiet and great hospitality
We were very well looked after even in chilly winter — the beds are cozy, the staff gracious, the food delicious, and the beauty of Hervey Bay right on your doorstep. I love that paperbark has stuck to their principles and kept the tents tech free!
