This place is amazing. You never want to leave. Gardens are beautiful, food is high class and the several lagoon pools allow for privacy and a short walk no matter where your room is located. We stayed when the borders were still shut so very few other guests was wonderful. Staff are trained to very high standard nothing is too much trouble. Cannot fault our stay. For us this was a special treat as staying here even on a QLD only package was not cheap - but the experience was fantastic.
Best hotel we’ve ever stayed at!
We ended up checking into this hotel after our originally booked hotel turned out to be what felt like a one star. We turned up to the hotel, explained we didn’t have a booking but wanted to stay etc Literally from the moment we turned up the customer service was 5 star. Graham (or graven?) and maddie were the nicest / most accomodating people ever and made the check in so flawless. They also sent a bottle of bubbles to our room as it was our honeymoon!!! The rooms were like walking into heaven. The bathrooms are so luxurious, the sheets, the towels etc literally everything is 5 star. The choice of pools, fresh water or salt water pools - in what hotel do you ever get a choice of type of water to swim in? Next up is the pool bar… I could of stayed there all day, it was tropical paradise sitting on the seats in the pool drinking cocktails. I could go on and on with how good this place is but honestly we originally didn’t book the Sheraton because we thought it was abit more expensive than the other places but you get what you pay fit and knowing what it’s like now, I’d pay more because it’s just that nice. Thanks Sheraton you made our honeymoon that much sweeter!
SO MUCH POTENTIAL
ARRIVAL From the moment you turn into the Sheraton it’s gardens and landscaping scream luxury. RECEPTION We arrived early and were told our room would be ready in the north wing shortly 3 hours later ended up in the south wing this first encounter left us a little bit confused with no reason for the change of room and us being tired and keen to settle in after the awkwardly late check in of 3pm. ROOM and POOL We set up in the spacious king lagoon view room, To look out over the pools and notice the heavily discoloured bottom of the pool really makes you question the quality of the facility, With the pools being the main selling point of this resort I want it to be in 5 star condition not in a 3 star state with large yellowing patches everywhere, leaves littered throughout and just overall lacking a feeling of cleanliness it’s just not up to the Sheraton standard. Did not see the pool cleaned once in 5 night stay FOOD and BEVERAGE STAFF Here’s where it’s turns to slop the umbrella number we were seated at wasn’t on the app so had to walk up to the bar to order not a big deal retuned to my sun bed to wait 45 minutes for my 2 cocktails just for them to taste shocking, Drinkable but just not like a 20 dollar cocktail should(2 nips of alcohol and some juice is what I would compare it to) seems like the staff have no knowledge or skills in the bar department where they are working, can’t make basic cocktails unless on the menu, didn’t know what was in a pinacolada. Now to the food it’s Average from the lagoon bar heavily over price but it’s normal holiday prices, the other eatery Is Harrison’s but walked out after the horrible service given during social hour with the staff disinterested and no real desire to work. To wrap it up the Buffett breakfast lacks the luxury vibe as you have kids in school uniforms coming to eat and coffee orders not showing up really disappointed overall. Feels like backpackers that got stuck and can’t return home due to covid are all the waiters and they have just had enough. To top it off we only had to ring guest services one to get our towels back that house keeping didn’t replace. I’d rate it a 3/5 had a good time overall but the place needs work and is heavily understaffed and overpriced for the level of service they are providing. Don’t be fooled there seems to be a lot of social media influencers attending that edit there photos and make this place look amazing.
It Just Keeps Getting Better 👍👍👍
This is our 4th visit and it just keeps getting better, there were some notable improvements on this visit. This is an exceptionally well run and managed hotel. In typical Sheraton style they invest in their team members taking the time to train them how to give the guests the best experience. The team members at this hotel were all fantastic and could not do enough for you. Rooms are well maintained, kept spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable and efficient a/c. There are numerous lagoons, a swimming pool with swim up bar, plenty of pool loungers, even if the hotel was at capacity there would still be plenty of free space. The resort grounds and gardens are large again all well maintained and a pleasure to walk around. We noted many improvements on the buffet breakfast from the wide range of offerings, plenty to choose from to the improved service levels. Quality was very evident with the breakfast food choices. Water fountains are now lactated all over the property offering filtered, ambient or sparkling water for guest to refill their own bottles to save on plastic waste. Another new initiative we noted which I am sure elite members and guests appreciate, the management team now go around the pool area to make themselves known to guests, special thanks to Graham, Micheal and Peter Due to our titanium status we were upgraded to a suite, for our 17 nights, extending a further 5 nights and being upgraded to the Presidential Suite, it only got better, needless to say we were very comfortable. Can only say we are looking forward to next year where we have a 14 & 28 night booking.
This place is great to stay at with its fabulous pool
This place was just great to stay at with its huge pool. The room was nice and the bed was great. Great food at the resort and good happy hour drinks. This time we never had a chance to have a swim as it was on a trip and we only had 1 night.
