Seriously this place is just spectacular. Not just the hotel itself but the service is top notch. We booked a last minute get away for 4 nights and I will be returning 100%. The staff are absolutely fantastic! Friendly, hard working and go above and beyond. The only negative would be some of the customer these poor resort staff have to deal with, but that’s not the hotels fault. I just feel sorry for the staff absolute knobs these customers. These staff members don’t get paid for you to be disrespectful so don’t.
Cannot wait to return!
We stayed 3-7 October as a family with two young boys under 3. The spa studio room, #2212, was absolutely beautiful. Spacious and clean, and with a balcony with a great view of the lagoons and out towards the ocean (through the trees). Ben in the Front Office was excellent, and organised some great boxed breakfasts for us as we were leaving early to Kuranda one morning. Meji in the Harrison's restaurant is a treasure. Amazing customer service, and she (and the Raw Beef dish!) are the reason that we decided to return to the restaurant for three nights of our four night stay. The team at the pool were all excellent - in particular two ladies named Veronika, and the cocktails were delicious. The swim up bar just cannot be beaten. Honestly, the stay was so good that we are considering returning to the resort for our honeymoon next year, and probably at least another time just for a holiday between now and then. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Very big hotel - beautiful pools and garden
The resort is huge, heaps of pools and a swim up bar! The rooms are quite spaced out so there can be a lot of walking/stairs to and from your room and to the pools/restaurant. The gardens and surrounds were immaculate. The room was spacious and clean although the shower was constantly changing temperature. The food and drink menus have changed and have not been updated on their website. We went to order a cocktail jug which is $36 on their website, get to the bar and they are now $56 and totally different drinks. We also swam up to the pool bar at about 11am where two staff were standing, they looked at us, picked up a sign and put it in front of us that said ‘pool bar closed’. They did not say anything to us or bother to ask us to go around to the other side of the bar. We understand the staff can be busy, but a bit of customer service wouldn’t go astray. When the pool bar did eventually open, the staff were speaking a different language after serving, which we noticed made a lot customers uncomfortable. We were also interested in booking a pool side cabana, but there is no information provided anywhere. When we called reception she stated that they should to be booked the night before for the following day as they were all reserved. You can book a shuttle into town, $10 pp return which we found really handy!
Just don't expect the room you book
We booked a rare romantic night away and booked months in advance to turn up and be told that the room we had booked was not available and we were getting a different bed configuration (fine if you wanted 2 beds instead of a king double) Apparently because we had booked through a third agent this was not their issue , even though while standing their we could show them the room we wanted was apparently available on their website. I would call that pretty misleading and staff were hardly apologetic Nice room but not what we were hoping for.
Can not fault this resort ! It is stunning. All the staff go out of there way to help you the rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. Highly reccomend the lagoon access room. Well worth the extra money
