From the moment we walked in until we left the staff were excellent Close to the water and all the restaurants Very comfortable bed and a very good rate. Would highly recommend Pillow menu was the only issue, we like flat pillows that weren’t available & made it a bit difficult to sleep, 1st world problems 🤷🏻♂️
Aesthetically beautiful, terrible service
Aesthetically a very nice new hotel. Cant contest that. Service however well below 5-star standard. Very understaffed restaurant- buffet with 20 min queue wait to get hot food. Better not to attempt buffets in this Covid climate. Room service poor quality and minute servings. Very few pool loungers for size of hotel - couldn’t find any spare. We were required to quarantine on arrival and wait for Covid test result. Tried to sort breakfast (included in our package) for next day; manager told us to call next morning. Gave very clear brekky requests (basically eggs, coffee, fruit, yoghourt, toast, muesli) to the manager directly (who said he didn’t know what was served at breakfast buffet!) Took 2.5 hours of calls to reception to get breakfast in full. Then left charger cable for headphones accidentally at hotel; advised $20 postage fee to Melb. Not the 5 star service of a more well established chain
The Riley staff have made our family holiday amazing. The service received was exceptional and all about making our stay more relaxing and memorable. Could not recommend more. Special note for Tao for his exceptional service throughout our stay - thank you.
Fresh looking resort
The room felt spacious, fresh and new when we checked in. There's also a decent size balcony with quite a good view of the sea. The pool was well designed and could accommodate fairly a lot of people. The hotel is also a short walk to the Esplanade and the beach, where there are stuffs to do for the kids amongst other things. The disappointing thing we experienced during our five nights stay in this hotel is the temperature of the room that was purposely set by the hotel at 21 degrees the lowest. When we enquired the management regarding this, the reason provided was it's an environmentally friendly policy of the hotel. As a result, our sleeps were quite unpleasant especially for our little one who has a slight skin condition when the room would suddenly feel warm in the middle of the nights, possibly due to the warm sea breeze that blows inland at night. Last but not least, hotel staffs were courteous. Overall, our stay at Riley was pretty good.
The epitome of excellence
Stunning decor, great facilities (including the stunning rooftop bar), wonderful service, excellent location, an amazing pool area (with multiple pools to choose from) and superb appointments. I had high expectations... and Riley surpassed them. We couldn't have been happier.
