So good the first time so returning for a "Riley Christmas" 2020
Having stayed previously for my birthday and enjoyed "all things Riley" it was a no brainer when mum desiced on cairns this Chritmas to return ro "Riley" Looking forward to lazy days poolside, beautiful food and the wonderful service from the staff that makes this property the number 1 in Cairns. See you @ Christmas for more wonderful memories to be made! Artie
A beautiful oasis 🥳
My husband and I enjoyed an evening away from it all recently at this sumptuous hotel , and we were treated like royalty from start to finish 🥳The General Manager Jeremy checked us in himself , which was a lovely touch . The room was beautiful and overlooked the movie star swimming pool . Drinks and snacks poolside , followed by a delectable dinner at the legendary Paper Crane , where we were looked after beautifully by Agnes , Anath and Vaclav , was a pure delight to the senses 🕺we intended to visit the sought after rooftop bar Rocco but we were simply too full 😂As locals we will be doing this on a regular basis , it’s a luxury staycation in the middle of the sultry oasis of Cairns that totally fulfils every expectation ❤️treat yourself to this indulgent paradise today 💐shout out to Chef Wade and his team of dedicated professionals in the kitchen as well 🕺
I booked the Panoramic Sea View room because I got an epic deal that was too good to pass up. I had fairly high hopes that the room would be as good as in the pictures and I was not disappointed. Honestly, waking up every morning to the sunrise over the mountain is phenomenal! The room is tidied every day, fresh towels daily (which considering they mention rooms are made up only every 3 days during your stay, I was not expecting anything) and the bed made daily. Complimentary cartons of water, milk in the fridge should you wish to drink it or add it to your tea. The staff at Riley are an absolute delight. Nothing is too much trouble. I even had one of the staff push my luggage on the luggage trolley from reception to my room. She stopped to let me (and her) test the temperature of the heated pool and we were both pleasantly surprised. When I mentioned to reception that there was no bubble bath, (and who has a bath with no bubbles?) he said he would see what he could do. While he was unable to locate bubble bath, he did go to Eleme day spa and brought me back a body scrub. So he didn’t return empty handed and it was just thoughtful that he brought back something while I was out. Restaurants: I did not get time to venture up to Rocco. I would have liked to, but it’s on the list for next time. Paper Crane: Lunch is good, cocktails are yum!! I did not eat dinner here. Breakfast is too steep at $38/person but that’s hotel buffet breakfast prices for you. Pools: I only swam in the semi heated one and it was the one with the spa. I’m a cold frog and it has to be ridiculously hot for me to go swimming. The pools look nice though. Rooms: Splurge on (or search around for an awesome rate) the Panoramic Sea View. It’s in the tower not the white building. It’s absolutely beautiful. Bathroom: Has a hand held shower and a rain shower. I did not use the rain shower. The tub is epic! Very deep and spacious. BYO bubble bath. All in all I have very little to complain about Riley. In the current COVID-19 climate it’s a lot quieter in Cairns than normal, and Riley is definitely at the quieter end of town which I appreciated. You can walk to places for atmosphere and come back to the serenity of your room at Riley. Oh and you can dine at any of the restaurants across the Crystalbrook collection and charge the cost back to your room at Riley. Boardwalk Social at Flynn is fairly atmospheric on a weekend. Sunday afternoon chill sessions at Paper Crane at Riley. Come once and you will definitely come again. I know I will!
Average at best
Visited for our honey moon no warmth to this place at all. Amazing resort to look at. Rooms are clean the view is beautiful. The roof top bar is not worth the trip in the elevator. I would not stay here again.
Few Days Away
The Hotel was more than what we expected. Had a lovely vibe to it nice relaxing music. Felt you could have been anywhere in the world. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Great location. The pool & bar was amazing. Stayed on the Monday after a 9 hour drive & returned on the Thursday for another night. One of the restaurants wasn't open only doing a Fri or Sat night
