Solo mini holiday
I had the most wonderful mini holiday. The staff were all amazing but Lisa from the main bar was a standout she was so helpful and attentive from arrival to departure .The pools are big, warm at this time of year (which I like ) plenty of pool lounges or table and chairs. The studio room was of the 5 star standard you would expect, bed was very comfortable.
Excellent but tired Resort
Sea Temple is in a fabulous position 3 mins walk from Four Mile Beach. The pool is amazing but very cold water as unheated. All the staff were great and there is an excellent breakfast. You need a car if you wish to go to the shops and restaurants in Macrossan Street. Sea Temple charges five star rates but frankly the rooms are tired and our one bedroom apartment needed a refurb and updated furniture/appliances. The dryer was faulty. Overall a vg experience but the five star rating is not warranted.
Lovely resort - A little tired - beware many privately owned but managed by the resort
We booked a studio apartment looking onto the pool. An amazing bathroom and spa bath but the bedroom was the same size. Basically a hotel room with a balcony. No freezer for ice, no microwave or stove for a little cooking , had a toaster and coffee pot but not much else. Not particularly clean - bare feet became black! Pool lovely but bar prices as too be expected over priced. Restaurant service was haphazard but food great.
Better options in Port Douglas
My partner and I had a very short one night stay at the Sea Temple as our preferred accommodation in Port Douglas was not available for our first night. In terms of positives - our studio room was of a good size though the bathroom did take up significant area of the room with the large spa bath. Easy access to parking and the lagoon pool from our room. Downsides - Our room had a musty smell to it - obviously something they were aware of as there was an electric aroma diffuser on when we arrived. There was very limited sitting around the pool. The hotel is ALONG way out of central Port Douglas. There was no on-site shop or mini bar to purchase snacks. The apartment accommodation would be ideal for families looking for self contained accommodation however we were glad we were staying elsewhere for the majority of our stay in the local area.
Outstanding resort, huge lagoon pool would be ideal for families. Roughly around 1.5hr walk from the main centre, but easily accessible via shuttle bus which you can book from reception. Room was spacious and had a large spa bath, perfect to unwind on an evening. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
