Would happily stay here again
We stayed in a studio room for five nights, mainly to do day trips and outings around the Cairns/Port Douglas/Daintree region. As a result, we didn't make full use of the amenities but the standards of everything we did use and the service received was excellent. Our room was clean and well laid out, if a little sterile in decorating style, with a nice view over the pool area from our balcony. Our package included a welcome drink which was easily redeemed, and a complimentary wine and cheese hamper which was delivered to our room after check in and was so nice and hearty it virtually made up our dinner for one evening. We had buffet breakfast daily in the resort restaurant, and were really pleased at the range of hot and cold food options and exotic juice combinations which we thoroughly enjoyed. The onsite parking was easily managed once we had obtained our entry code, so coming and going was a breeze. The staff were very helpful on our early arrival, storing luggage was easy, and I have to mention that there was a nice little shelf of books available to swap in the reception lobby which I always appreciate. It is worth noting that we received a letter to our room advising us one day when there was a wedding reception being held by the pool area and warning us of possible noise, but whether due to the layout of the buildings or the quality of the sliding balcony doors we had no noise issues at all (also relevant when kids were playing in the pool at other times). We were also able to arrange for a "packed breakfast" for the day that we were being collected for a day trip too early for our included buffet breakfast. This was much appreciated. As a non-local I found the crocodile warning sign along the exit from the resort to the beach front a little concerning (as the route goes over a scrubby creek and the sign is right near the shower head for rinsing off the sand when you re-enter the resort!) but I guess that's the point - to make you aware and keep you as safe as possible. But you can bet we didn't go for any night time walks outside the resort fences. Overall a lovely resort with friendly staff and a good central location to check out nearby attractions.
We stayed at the Pullman Palm Cove for a week.Hotel was great, pools were good and the location was excellent.Very handy to shopping centres and we hired a car and done the tablelands and Port Douglas which wasn’t very far away. The breakfast menu was good.We were a bit disappointed with the main restaurant, staff were a bit slow , food was ok though.A nice place for a getaway
A Lovely Hotel Close To The Beach With A Great Pool
We visited here for lunch one day and had a nice meal. We had sharing plates which were all good except the pork which was dry and chewy. We pointed this out and they quickly swapped it for something else. Because the hotel was deadly quiet due to being the off season but also the Corona virus effect on tourist numbers, we were also offered a swim in the pool which we kindly took up. We were the only people at the pool. The pool area is amazing. You walk over a small bridge with nice tropical plantings to 2 pools. The large one is large and has a number of places and chairs with umbrellas you can sit at. It was very relaxing. It was only the down pour that chased us out. We had had a nice walk on the beach also which is easily accessed through the small gate by the pool. We returned here for breakfast one morning. It was buffet style. The restaurant only had a handful of patrons. It was not a fancy buffet but had enough. You cannot be offering a huge selection with such small patronage. They cooked eggs to order. It wasn’t the best buffet but absolutely adequate. I would definitely stay here next time.
Even better than last time
Our second stay here was in a one bed apartment for 3 nights and it was fantastic. The apartment is so clean and functional. A full sized fridge is a must and it is stocked as well. Handy to have decent washing and drying machines and even an ironing board. Nothing lacking here. Facilities are so good and storage is plentiful, but the staff make this hotel what it is. Breakfast is amazing and is the best start to your day. The tropical setting with the pools is so relaxing and of course our stay is not complete without dinner at the temple of tastes. (thanks to Ben again and we wish George a swift recovery). The Pullman is our favourite place to stay when in Cairns.
This resort is a beautiful place to stay, with friendly staff & in a great location. They offer a yummy buffet breakfast I would highly recommend to anyone visiting palm cove it has been a great relaxing environment
