Nice for a get away
This place is the perfect location if you just want to relax by the 3 pools. It’s only a short 5 minute walk into the little Palm Cove town & waterfront, be aware you can’t swim in the sea due to the local crocodiles & stingers. Palm Cove is approximately 15 mins from the airport. This resort has onsite restaurants, underground car park. Highly recommend 🥂😎👏🏼
A sprinkle of Bali in a setting comparable to Maui
This is a Bali inspired resort perfect for families built around a magnificent pool. Rooms available that open onto the pool to rooftop penthouses make it a perfect family destination - you would be happy not to leave the resort. Its a 5min walk to the start of the main strip in town along the beach with 5 star restaurants in terms of food but casual vibe inclusive to families. Not being able to swim due to stinger season didn't bother us - the resort pool made up for this. Organise a Coles delivery to your room if you have small kids and/or enjoy the discount benefits of an Accor membership and happy hour drink specials. We will be back. Having recently visited Kaanapali, Maui we felt Palm Cove is as good or better with more restaurants and less people. No waves like Maui but there were none when we visited. Marine life compares, beaches are the same (minus the swimmers) tropical rainforest and mountains to the beaches compares as does the heat and humidity with tropical rain showers to cool you down.
Deserves the 5 star rating
Everything about our stay was simply luxurious and Palm Cove is a convenient place to base your holiday on. Many of the sights are within a short drive. Can not fault the staff, the room, the hotel or the service we recieved.
Palm Cove Paradise
From the moment we arrived we were treated kindly by all staff, thank you Karen at check in for making us feel welcome straight away. Our room was perfect, breakfast was more than adequate, pool area(s) are great. Short walk to center of Palm Cove. I did feel at times there was a shortage of Staff.
Very good, but not quite 5 star
The Pullman PC is a tale of two sides of the coin. It’s greatest strength can also becomes its greatest adversary. Located on average, a 15 min walk to the centre of town, it boast a lovely, relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of the main strip where there is the constant drone of diners and loud exhausts from look-at-me drive-by’s. It hosts beach access to the rear of the hotel, so you can pick your route whilst forgetting town with a easy walk back. The pool area(s) are wide spread and relaxing. Due to the remoteness however, there is a general consensus between guests I spoke with during our stay, that your potential laziness to travel into town is somewhat exploited financially. Pricing at the resort of everything from spa treatments, to drinks and dining, to bike hire ($25 per hour?) is pushed just high enough to question if you really want to stay around there all day during the days, to do what it is you come to do on holidays, which is generally eat and drink and spoil yourself lavishly. Now I’m not a tight arse as this may read, but I also don’t like to be taken for a ride when so many more options present at a substantial lower cost or potential higher value and quality just minutes away. I should also disclose at this point that the bar does offer happy hours (3-5 daily), and that the ridiculously priced bike hire can be avoided if you sign up to a free membership / newsletter type scenario via email. With that being said, the rooms are amazing. Faultless. King sized ( very comfortable) beds, large bath tubs, multiple Foxtel channels, powerful air conditioning (not split system, the proper vented type) and prompt house keeping all await you at this resort. The staff are all amazing nice, professional and really go above and beyond to make you happy, and fix any issues you may encounter ( we had none personally, but overheard many requests being promptly adhered too). They all works their butts off, the only issue is at times (pool bar especially) it feels there isn’t enough of them. When the place gets slammed during daily peak times, there can be long waits for drinks and food, and it feels as if they are constantly one person short. Due to this, empty plates and glasses can remain on tables for extended periods of time, as the staff just do not have the time to get around to clean it up promptly ( first world problems, I know, however this is a 5 star hotel review). This of course could be a Covid related issue with staff availability or cost cutting which we all must temporarily endure. Conclusion: Would I recommend or stay here again? Absolutely, however I would probably wait for it to be on a discount to offset the wait times and premium food, beverage and extras pricing.
