New Executive Apartments
Just spent a very comfortable 3 nights here at the Mandalay in one of their newly refurbished 3 Bedroom Executive Apartments. There was plenty of space, gorgeous luxury bathrooms and very comfortable and tastefully decorated bedrooms and living areas. Travelling in a group of 6 we had plenty of space for all of us and felt very at home. Highly recommended by all my family - from age 14 to 74!
5 adults and 1 teenager stayed in executive 3 bedroom 3 bathroom apartment. Very tastefully decorated apartment and plenty of room for everyone. We couldn’t use the safe in the apartment as battery was low but when we informed to the staff they came to fix straightaway. Very happy with the accommodation.
Such a generous place
The standout feature of Mandalay is generosity. Generosity of space , generosity of supplies such as towels and bathroom supplies, generosity of time. For example, ‘ check out when you can’. Location is fantastic. A short, pleasant walk to the main cafes, a stroll to 4 Mile Beach and a tropical location which could be completely outside the town but isn’t. This is a welcoming and relaxing place to stay.
3 bedroom, 3 bathroom plus
We recently stayed 3 kids, 3 adults. Plenty of space and great kitchen and laundry. Apartment was a little tired , however we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Friendly reception staff, plenty of shade by pool. Short stroll to main street and groceries.
Expected more for the price
Not really sure why people give the Mandalay 5 stars, maybe I am missing something. Our experience, the apartment is good size but smelled wet and mouldy and we had to air it out every day for hours. There was a chopping board actually covered in mould in the cupboard, also dead bugs in the kitchen cupboard and a tv remote not working with batteries in it that are leaking acid, the fan in our room made a ticking noise all night, there was mould on the doors in our bathroom. The pools are small, one about size of a house pool, the other about twice the size but still smallish. It's not on the beach, it's across from dense bush that used to have a path through to the beach but is now closed. Positive is that its close to the main street.
