For the price and how it is advertised, it delivered much less than expected
I hadn't a pleasant stay. I did not feel welcomed, as majority of the staff was always serious and I was actually the one greeting them when initiating a conversation instead of them; room was not properly clean (hair on the bathroom floor on the arrival) and missing things after cleaning; cleaning and organization of the restaurant also disappointing (table and seats cleaned with the same cloth), method for staff to collect cutlery and clean tables while customers waiting to be seated in the main restaurant was inefficient (slow). In my experience, not worth what is advertised at all.
Large 1980s hotel complex lacking any character but with great sea views. Needs some upgrading.
Fantastic sea views from our balcony. Parrots could however be a nuisance as people feed them and they can be persistent. Can be large flocks at times. Good sized bedroom but in need of some refurbishment Characterless 1980s tourist hotel in a number of large blocks Having a buffet breakfast with the Koalas at the nearby Nature Reserve was lovely. Don't bother with the paying to go in the Nature Reserve as only a small zoo with disinterested staff and few animals. Just enjoy being with the Koalas at breakfast Hotel service a bit mixed. Best lifts ever with views of the sea Free minibus takes you around the island although one tour is enough to see all. Also a modern marina on the journey. Hotel would merit 3 starts but views give another star
Excellent apart from a shambolic checkin process.
A great hotel although it shows its age in places. Wonderful staff, friendly and efficient, great rooms (The Coral Sea view rooms at v good and worth the upgrade), the buffet breakfast, included in the price, was really top class and could not be bettered. Rooms are spacious but the bed wasn't 100% comfortable, and the bathroom was a little grubby in places. No problem with that but there was one BIG issue: the shambolic check in. With this hotel having plane and ferry loads of guests checking in every day, SURELY they could have some sort of organised queuing process? We experienced the worst in human behaviour where those who shoved their way forward were the only ones who got attention. Those of us who queued politely sacrificed an hour a half of our lives before getting "processed". That was a big turnoff. Management needs to address thi, perhaps with a front-of-hour person, a numbered ticketing system, or something other than total chaos.
Convenient and very clean
My friend and I stayed at this hotel overlooking the Catseye beach, very clen, greta breakfst choices, conveniently located, great pool bar, staff are very kind and friendly, very well organised, highly recommended and very reasonably priced
Very Impressed with Reef View
We had a five night stay in a garden view room (level 1) and was very impressed overall, I will start out by saying the room could do with a revamp however it is clear that the hotel is in the process of upgrading everything (construction noise wasn't a huge issue for us as we were barely in the room). The rooms are very large and well equipped for your stay. The breakfast was fantastic, plenty of options and all very very tasty, I loved that there were a few options. The pools are great and always well maintained and the beach sports are an added bonus. The buses helped us get around to everywhere we needed to get to, although golf buggies can be very handy at times, you can get by without them. I would like to mention a very special thank you to Isaac from hotel security and the Paramedic Billy or Ben ( we are hopeless with names, so sorry) we had a medical emergency on our last night and were so very impressed by the service that we received from everyone, both Isaac and the paramedic went above and beyond to accommodate us throughout the process and acted professionally throughout, we were so grateful for their help.
