Qualia has the most spectacular entrance. Both types of Villas are so lovely, comfy beds, lots of light, gorgeous oils get lit in the bathroom at night with other special nighttime rituals to greet you when you come back after dinner. Food is thoughtful and yummy and the Staff are so totally professional and lovely too. We would like to especially mention Sam & Annie at beach Activites, Matt at Long Pav restaurant and Sarah at Front desk ( the others there were pretty average) and the Qualia spa therapists. We had a few issues eg buggy breakdown, crazy air con noise one night but they were sorted and the Assistant Manager, Walter made kind amends which was lovely of him. The only thing I would suggest is that the beautiful pool at Pebble beach be turned down a few degrees..It is like warm bath. Not refreshing when its 30 degrees outside. Thank you for a most lovely stay.
Perfect location for Our Honeymoon
We stayed at Qualia for our Honeymoon for 5 nights in December '19. We had such a relaxing time and were very impressed with our villa. We decided to stay in the Windward pavilion with the pool and also with a la carte breakfast included. The highlights of our stay include: - the helicopter flight over Love reef and to Whitehaven beach. The pilots were absolutely professional and set my wifes mind at ease given she is afraid of heights. - The view from our room. We had a room which had a large and very old fig tree partially obscuring our view, but it was still very beautiful to have the bird life right in front of our bedroom and also gave some privacy from the yachts and boats that would pass by. The in room pool was amazing - The massages at the beauty centre. - Breakfast was always very tasty The things that were not so impressed with include: - The service was not what I would expect at such a beautiful resort. Although the staff were friendly, we got the impression that the staffing was based on itinerant backpackers that were fulfilling there work visas so there was not attention to detail and service that I would expect at this type of resort. On one occasion, we waited for about 30 mins to be served at the Pebble Beach restaurant and there were only about 3 other couples there. When the food came, it was absolutely delicious. Also on another occasion, I went to sit down at the Long pavilion chairs overlooking the ocean and I had one of the male staff come up to me to ask if "I was right" giving me the impression that he did not want me to sit there as there was arriving guests that he wanted to place there instead. - The food options. The food at Qualia was amazing but if you are going to stay there for a longer period than 3 night, then there is not too many options for variety. The other restaurants on Hamilton Island can be hit and miss. The fish and chip shop was appalling which is unusual given the location. All in all, we had a great stay and would go back but there were a few things that Qualia need to do to get to the level of a place like Saffire in Tasmania.
As close to perfection as we’ve found
What an amazing place. Qualia is its own piece of luxury and tranquility and as close to perfection as we’ve found. It is a gated resort on the peninsula but only a 10 minute golf buggy ride from the marina (every bungalow has its own golf buggy on Qualia and the normal mode of transport for getting around the island). The bungalows are beautifully proportioned with all facilities expected of a 6* resort. Personally we weren’t in our bungalow much so the leeward bungalow was perfect for us - we didn’t miss the plunge pool etc. Breakfast was amazing looking out across the whitsundays and the staff were excellent - attentive but informal and always happy to help. It is expensive but in my view worth the cost for our 4 night stay. The perfect stay thank you.
One of the best resorts I've stayed at!
I will say that this was honestly one of the best 5 star resorts out there. I planned a last minute trip from Sydney to Hamilton island. Qualia was recommended by 3 local friends and it did not disappoint. I didn't feel the pretentious vibe from other $1000+ per night resorts and everything was perfect. The island is amazing and the fact everyone gets a golf cart makes the stay even better. I stayed at pavilion 48 which was perfect. I would come back in a second.
Luxury at every level
We are now at Qualia and the service and luxury are amazing. Wonderful outlook from exquisite suites. The staff anticipates your every need. Plenty of activities included and a great gym and pool. Highly recommend Cheers
