No consideration of disabled people
When I booked this accommodation it stated that the property had a lift. I assumed that meant that my disabled wife would be fine getting around. But no! The lift only services some of the rooms. Others are serviced by not-to-code ramps, stairs and pathways. Try parking in their two marked disabled parking spaces. No chance! Any one with an over-height vehicle or one of the managers in the resorts vehicle parks in them. When told about this and after asking for them to be moved, as the vehicles did not have disability passes - they NEVER moved. The staff even stated that “as they were on the resort property the regulations do not apply!” Also stated was “we have a parking problem here!” So why have them at all? Is this so they can claim that they are disability friendly! They ARE certainly not! The rooms are lovely with a fantastic view but this is spoilt by a very poor attitude from management. One of the managers (the one that parks his company car in the disabled parking spot) had dinner with friends at the tables next to us. The noise from him (in particular), the language and the “special service” provided was appalling. Very disappointing overall for a very expensive motel!!!
Fantastic location and view
We recently stayed in a deluxe spa room and the view and location are amazing. But I have to say for the price of the deluxe spa room we were very disappointed. The room is very knocked around and there was no attention to detail. For example the shower door did not close properly, the jets on the spa were broken, there was mould and dirt all over the hammock, there was a cigarette hole in the cushion on the outdoor seat and it was filthy, there was a piece of broken glass on the balcony. The room was very large though and plenty of space It was the small things and for the price we paid you would expect a lot better!! The staff were friendly and helpful and the overall look of the place is lovely with a great view but if you are looking for a luxury room look somewhere else
A nice place to stay in Airlie
We stayed here for 5 days and enjoyed our stay. The pool and outlook is beautiful. One thing to note is the rooms have shutters and not curtain so the sun wakes you up early. Bathrooms are a good size as was the balcony which over looked the pool. Staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help out. A good location, just a very short boardwalk walk into the Main Street of town or around to the marina.
Charged for filthy mattress
We were charged $500 for a filthy mattress that my son had to sleep on. This was charged to our credit card without any discussion. Management did not return numerous phone calls and emails. Our bank ended up getting our money back through an unchallenged dispute. Besides this, our room was very dated and over -priced. Location and a nice pool carry this hotel.
The room was just lovely, and the view is to die for you could easily think you were in Hawaii or the Maldives. Breakfast at the hotel was really nice but there is a restaurant on the point short walk from the hotel called Sorrento it was great and definitely worth visiting for Lunch or Dinner.
