Stayed for 4 nites in a Ocean View Spa Suite which was recently renovated . The views ..... WOW . The poolside area, Bar and Restaurant area also has had a face lift and had a beautiful vista . Short stroll to town or the Marina , make sure and visit Sorrentos 2 min walk along boardwalk . Would defo stay here again when visiting Airlie
Beautiful views and friendly staff
We loved our stay at the resort. We probably should have stayed mid week as the entertainment on the weekends which is promoted everywhere was pitched at a younger crowd and intrusive. The menu is limited and the chef applies too much salt which detracts from his ability to cook the fish perfectly. It took three goes for the breakfast chef to get the eggs right. By the way you are charged a dollar extra to have lactose free milk but if you bring your own you don't get a dollar off if you order black coffee to add your own milk. Also there is no bottomless cup for coffee. I think that sums it up It was the little things that detracted from being perfect eg Charged extra for lactose free milk Their paperless order system that takes longer than writing a note at the customer point of the sale (it might save time on the back end of the sale) The fact we had a full sink in the room but no cleaning teatowl or cloth and dishwashing liquid until the last day which we sacrificed toilet paper and a bath mat for that facility and the toilet brush was left in the toilet The spa bath is a little small All in all though, apart from the little things we had a lovely time. Jarrod on the front desk is brilliant Louis and Holly are an asset in the restaurant. You need to take the salt away from the Chef. Whatever you do Don't order the twice cooked chips
Gorgeous resort but issues with rooms
The resort location is spectacular and the restaurant/bar and pool area simply stunning. Immediately felt relaxed. Breakfast was lovely and staff wonderful. Sadly the rooms really let the experience down. We stayed on 2 seperate occasions and had 2 different types of room. The first was a king suite which consisted of 2 rooms. Room was fine except the balcony was adjacent to the staff smoking area and we could smell smoke constantly. Hotel needs to consider moving the smoking area as these rooms would mostly be used by families and I do not want my children or any others having to put up with the horrible smell. Our second room was a twin room with 2 double beds. Pretty small but ok. The issue was that the room only has blinds and there was a light outside our room all night. Really hard to get to sleep. I'm suprised that black out blinds/ curtains have not been used as these are pretty standard in most hotels these days. The beds were also extremely hard and I slept badly on both occasions. This place could be almost perfect if they can just sort these issues.
Coral sea is such a nice place to stay. We stayed only one night after an island trip. Was so nice and relaxing. Food was good. Service was friendly. Much rather stay here then our island getaway. Thanks coral sea!
Location and views says it all!1
I have stayed there three times now, they have renovated it since my first twoovisits, yes it is much 'smarter', but a couple of things I am not so keen on, There is a tiny self made beach area with beanbags, but no where to wash the sand off your feet, the building is now painted white which makes it a touch too glare with the sun shining of the water. The restaurant is good for dinner, but quite expensive and small portions. Overall it is a great place to stay, with easy access to the Main Centre and marinas
