A Good Overnight Stay
A small group stayed at the Vibe Hotel after a long journey overnight from LA. We arrived earlier than check-in however a couple of rooms were ready which was great so that we could have a shower & freshen up. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating when the carpark was full and found alternatives. Only a short walk from Cavill Ave & the Surfers Nightlife & restaurants. A good place to stay in Surfers.
Needs cleaning & maintenance
This is an older style building which has been updated, but suffers some basic maintenance issues. The usual cleaning/maintenance needs improvement like other peoples long black hairs on towels, rusty bins/plumbing, cracked/crazed bath tub/bedside glass top, extra dusty air con/window vents/sprinkler heads, moldy patio with peeling table paint, stained spots on carpet and an upholstered chair. The air con in room and spa didn't work some of the time. Coffee/tea used was replaced sometimes. When standimg in the shower/bath my head was rubbing the ceiling. No kitchenette or kitchen crockery or utensils of any sort or microwave, and the tiny fridge has no freezing capacity so Cornettos I bought melted. Rooms at the back are quieter away from the main road, although there was a woman screaming in one room throughout the night, despite calling reception to complain about it three times. Pros: Near Caville Ave, upper levels distant views, quieter at rear of building, modern samsung smart tv, large spa/pool, comfy beds and modernised.
good value, great location, good rooms, average cleanliness of the room as carpets are stained. inhouse food prices are not competitive compared to other food business outside. parking is very small and cannot accomodate all guests.
Would definitely stay again!
If you’re not on the beach with an ocean view, then THIS is the place to stay at Surfer’s. Request a river view room, and you won’t have noise from the road, but you will have a beautiful view of the mountains and river. We loved watching the boats and sunset from our balcony. This location was prime with no other hotels looking in and uninterrupted views. On the corner of Cavill Avenue, Just cross the road to Circle on Cavill Mall with shops and restaurants, and next to major bus stops to Sea world and other attractions. The ferry stop is right next door, so you can have a $10 boat trip up the river to Sea World or HOTA or the marina. Walk straight through to the G-link tram, and down iconic Cavill Avenue strip to Surfer’s Paradise Beach. This will be my new go-to hotel at prices like these for this amount of convenience and relaxation. The lobby is modern and spacious, and staff were more efficient than our next stay at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast (where we had to wait for ages!). The lifts were amazingly fast, so no waiting going to and from your room. Our room was newly renovated, so it was very pleasant. The only old thing remaining was the shower head and bath, but the pressure nearly blew me out of the shower, so it won me over and is the best shower I have ever had! Quiet rooms with very comfy beds and pillows. I usually take my own pillow, but didn’t this time and didn’t regret it. Welcome drink on arrival at the tropical bar overlooking the pool and river. Ah, finally on holiday! Breakfast buffet was included and this out-did my top buffet yet (Hilton Sydney and Sheraton mirage Port Douglas). No fancy cakes or desserts like 5 star restaurants, but you select a main dish and help yourself to the rest of the buffet. My first time ever to have Beef Brisket for breakfast, and the best brisket I have ever had! How? Who is this chef? I have travelled around the United States trying beef brisket and this was the best yet?! I’m coming back in a few weeks just for this! Please don’t change the menu. Accompanied by two perfect poached eggs, caramelised onions and grilled tomatoes, it was the perfect Keto Breakfast, and the perfect breakfast full stop. The buffet was a salad bar (fancy), a juicing bar with a range of fruit and vegetables, and a carb bar of breads and pastries, and the beloved pancake maker for the kids. Free with our stay, but at $29.90 advertised, I would come back. The view from the level 2 restaurant was gorgeous. Negatives? The hotel was old (can’t help that), but renovated well. The room became quite hot in the evening with the sun and the air conditioner didn’t cope very well. Slept with the door open. Can’t think of anything else. What a winner! Value for money.
