A getaway at Spicers Peak Lodge
Martin and Stephanie and their team do an outstanding job starting even before you arrive. They are as attentive as you want them to be, they will sit and talk to you or leave you by yourself to enjoy your stay. The little experiences they offer are a great way to meet the other guest and share stories but the property itself is the real high light. We enjoyed our four night stay and we will definitely return. Would love to visit in winter
This was our 4th visit & we see excellence everywhere we look on each occasion. We definitely will be back again for a multi-night stay. The meals were exceptional & the service was faultless. The location is idyllic with scenery to die for.
Beautiful Escape --> Read on for finer details
Follow us on Insta for more pictures and details : @ palatinohospitality Location : the hotel is located in a National Park, in the mountains. It's a 2 hours drive from Brisbane on a one lane road. There is a lots of trucks on the way which doesn't make the road so pleasant, but the landscapes are nice. The end of the road in the mountain is a bit rocky but it's not a hard drive. Rooms : we stayed in the main building. The rooms are well done and spacious enough, with a sitting area by the fireplace and a terrace. The room faces the mountain. It has a fireplace and as we were there in winter it was really pleasant to have a drink in our room by the fireplace. Food : innovative with local and fresh products. It was a set menu and we enjoyed all the courses. The dining room is a nice place. Breakfast on the terrace of the dining room was really enjoyable. Wine & Drinks : they had great non alcoholic options, which is always pleasant! The choices of wines and drinks was good. Activities : we only stayed one night so we didn’t got the chance to do much. We went for a long and beautiful walk around the property. We wanted to go to the pool but it was really cold (not heated). It seems that there is a center close to the Staff : all the staff are well trained and professional. Negative point : we had bathroom with no bath (which we were told) but it was actually a room for a wheelchair access so there was a lot of lost space (which we were not told). The room has a double door to go outside and during the night, air passes under the door so it was quite cold all night.
Our light lunch and 8-course dinner was excellent, rivaling 5+ stars dining we have experienced anywhere else. Very satisfying and a complete credit to the chef on-staff at the time. And any personal request was never a problem at all.
Relaxed luxury indeed
Customer service is paramount at all Spicers locations however at the Peak Lodge it was a touch above! From check in to checkout everything is possible and everything asked is done. The food is exquisite and the relaxation heavenly!
