The Perfect Birthday Getaway
OMG!! It was Amazing!! 😲😃🥰 I loved it so much from start to finish. I was booked in for a birthday celebration on September 29th. I had read some of the bad reviews before I came, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But OMG! I have No idea what they were going on about?? My experience was Incredible! Coming into the front of the hotel was just magnificent. It definitely felt like a European palace, classic, beautifully and solidly designed and surprisingly very homely. My friends, heir families and I started with a the high tea which was beautifully done. They even gave me a lovely plate with petite bites and a candle with a chocolate happy birthday written on the plate, and beautiful helium balloons wow! Our service was lovely, although they were busy for a while serving others, by the time they served us, they were very attentive warm and welcoming. I found the service from start to finish excellent warm & friendly. When my friend & I finally went to see our double lagoon room OMG! It was just incredible with the BEST view of the beach pool WOW!! I felt like I was in another country, I was completely blown away! The bathroom was just gorgeous! I loved the spa bath which I had that night just perfect! The room clean, had everything you need and was a generous size for 2 people with double beds each, beautiful solid classic furniture & linen. They also had a birthday welcome card, and another cute delicious chocolate mouse & banana birthday cake with chocolate strawberries, wow so generous! 😄🥰 We also had the perfect most gorgeous weather, as we lounged by the beach pool which was just amazing. We went for a dip in the pool which was refreshing although still cold at this time of year. This was the perfect layout for me as I prefer a cosy enclosed pool area, with space between us & others. The hotel is walking distance to the nearby mall & restaurants by the marina which we also enjoyed. We also went across the road to the Sheraton which was equally as spectacular! This was the most perfect and incredible birthday celebration and a wonderful gift given by my lovely friend & her husband. I am glad we got to do so much in a short amount of time. The perfect stay finished with an amazing breakfast in the dining area, (also great service), and then when we checked out, I appreciated the very friendly concierges who went to find my car, bring it out the front and put our luggage in the boot. I’ve never had this service before so of course I was just pleasantly surprised. My friend and I felt like Queens and we were definitely treated that way. So now I am sold on this hotel and want to keep coming back. It’s probably the best hotel I have been to. The only tiny negatives, were some wall fixtures in the hallway needed maintenance and the hallway smelt like people had been smoking in their rooms, other than that I hadn’t noticed or seen anything as bad as some other reviews. Well done Palazzo Versace 👍😁 I have nothing but high praises for my stay, I absolutely loved it! Also please thank your lovely staff for their excellent service, particularly the concierge team and hospitality team.
Rooms impressive, some resort features under renovation
Stayed for a night about a week ago overall found the suite to be very spacious, clean and accommodating. One of the display pools had been drained and the other quite murky due to apparent recent storm that caused some damage. There was also a few folks and cutlery that had been left next to one of the day beds by the pool for a few hours and the area did not seem to be checked regularly by staff. The pool bar was also closed and a door open where you could see a rather un-organised and messy staff area which was a little disappointing. There was also a problem with the bedside clock which erupted at 2am with an exceptionally loud wake up an alarm we never set thought it was rectified upon hitting buttons frantically but again decided to cause a noise at 2:30 am so it was just unplugged for the remaining stay. Furthermore had quite a stressful experience with the car park which caused a bit of drama between my travel companion and I, It seems the residence carpark door was left open so we entered the area by car thinking it was the exit, upon driving in we became lost and the door must have closed behind us thus leaving us stuck in the carpark and as we could not exit via swipe and had no reception to cause hotel reception we had to use the elevators which took us to a level 1 condominium corridor where we could not exit the door to the pool area nor use the lift to get back down the elevator therefore causing us to be stuck. Upon getting through to reception they were able to send someone up to assist us getting out of the car park. This was probably the most negative experience as It caused us to be late for a breakfast meeting that had been planned weeks in advance. Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful but they need to look into the car park issue as it could add further stress to guest experiences in the future.
Like a palace
The service was warm, friendly & efficient. It was a welcome change from high rise buildings & in the hotel suite, we were surrounded by beautiful things, the floor, the curtains, the bed bases, the bathroom with the marble tiles. the view out the window, the furniture, all beautiful. The spa bath is a generous size & it was easier than anticipated for my care-recipient, who has mobility issues, to get in & out of the bath, because it's wide & not too deep. Only 1 negative; there's no supermarket in the area. The nearest one is in Surfers Paradise. The hotel is not too crowded at the moment; it's a good time to stay there if you want peace & quiet.
Exceptionally exquisite, relaxing time away!
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved everything about it! Great friendly service, beautiful rooms, delicious food and we especially enjoyed listening to the atmospheric tones of Cassidy Wilson (pianist) and his trumpet player on Friday night before we left the following day. Lovely memories we’ll take with us. We’ll be back for coffee, drinks or dinner to enjoy this music and the beauty of this place again.
It was ok
So I was very excited to stay at Versace for my girlfriends 50th. I had told the hotel it was a special occasion for us. It was nice but to me the service wasn't overly 5 star and for the price you pay you expect it. Yes the ground floor restaurant area is lovely and the pool area is great. Hotel is clean. However to me there should have been a note on the system so when we checked in they mention happy birthday or note in the room etc. That is real customer service. First day we rang at about 2pm wanting an afternoon sleep and to let them know there was no pillows on the bed. Reception said no worries I'll send some up.....nothing....at 5pm we rang again and someone did come with 2 pillows and did tell us there was some at the bottom of the cupboard but certainly didn't go over the top to get them for us or apologise for no response the first time. Next day we left the hotel at 7am and came back about 2.30pm. The room hadnt been made up. We rang and were told that house keeping work till 2.30 but will see what they can do... really... We then went out and came back later and it had been done. However one sock missing and one of the beds had been made up with pjs in the middle which we didn't find until bed time. Breakfast was OK albeit it a limited menu understand its hard with coved. However.. . Big bowl of yoghurt given with just a sprinkling of topping no where near enough to sweeten the whole thing. No honey or anything provided. My order was taken and it came incorrect.pastries given but no butter or jam or anything. I really believe that they could have provided a better breakfast. The cost of food was ridiculous 10 dollars for hot chocolate and 17 for a very small sweet treat. But restaurant meal was lovely. At the door they have security we were dressed mainly in jeans and a smart tops and each time we walked in we were met with.. just here for coffee ladies... quite offensive really...no we were staying for 3 days. Would I go back...probably but I can honestly say I've had better service in other hotels I n the coast this was nothing exceptional.
