Great location but a bit dated
Fantastic location right on harbour with all rooms having balconies. Can get straight on all the whale watching boats & walk to numerous restaurants & cafes. Rooms are not huge & a little dated but clean & comfortable.
Disappointing 80’s style room.
We have stayed at many Mantra hotels over the years so they are always our first choice when visiting a new location. We were sadly disappointed with this hotel. Our room was a one bedroomed spa room. Upon arrival at the room we found it to be very tired looking with dark outdated furniture. The room was dark and needed the lights on at all times. There were quite a few idiosyncrasy’s that we found quite amusing with the room however. The bathroom had an internal window out into the lounge room. There was a blind on the lounge room side which was controlled from the lounge room. Slightly concerning that you could find yourself on the loo and someone could pull the blind up whilst you were sitting there. The dryer was also in the bathroom on the wall. When dryers are put on the wall they are usually Upside down so that the controls can be reached. Not this one it was on the wall the right way up and you had to be a giant to reach the controls. One of the kitchen cupboards opened the wrong way which made it very difficult to get the things put of the cupboard. The sink tap moved from the base when you turned it from hot to cold. We also had a very wonky table lamp in the bedroom. And finally every time we went to our room we got a phone message inviting us to join their wifi. Only trouble was that it didn't work once we tried to join it. On the plus side the bed was really comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Whilst the hotel is in a great location we felt the room was in desperate need of a renovation.
Whale watching mecca of Australia and Mantra is right on the marina metres from your vessel. Showing signs of late 80s influence in colours and decore this complex certainly can't be beat for proximity to whale watching boats. Appears all rooms ,like ours, overlooked marina, no water in room, small annoyance,no one at reception before before 7.00am,come on,small mix of coffee shops ,restaurants ,walking distance and very good Hervey Bay Boat Club next door .
Hervey Bay and Fraser Island
Hervey Bay Mantra in great position on the boat harbour, convenient for whale watching cruises and close to the excellent Boat Club. Secure parking however the room was in a poor position where restaurant patrons smoked and somewhat noisy. The room was not well maintained and bed spread stained.
Started with dour receptionist! Room we were given was already occupied, could have been embarrassing thankfully wasn’t. Back to reception - a kind of apology and then into our room. Wifi didn’t work, room meant to include harbour and marina views ... car park and air conditioning unit was a funny interpretation of those! . Beds were great, spa bath great . Not their fault but COVID = lots of local cafe/restaurant closures. They would have done well to suggest you need to book anywhere you want to eat as tourists outnumbered available facilities.
