Beautiful location and amenities. PeteB on the beauty spots tour was a very knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide. Pools are amazing, gardens well maintained. Does need a bigger variety of local grown fruits at brekky and change of coffee brand. Resort structure is superb and a very wide and opening main area which adds to the nature feel of the island. Will definitely be back.
Our Stay at Kingfisher
A wonderful time. We stayed back in the early 90's and it has definately improved. We would have liked more choices on the menu at both restaurants. My wife is disabled and found it easy to get around except for the beach bistro which had no ramps.
Relaxing few days.
We spent a few nights with my family and parents @ Kingfisher for NYE, it’s a really nice resort to just Relax around. The kids loved the pools and the Ranger guided night tour as they learned a lot about the Island & it’s animals & surroundings. The accommodation is very nice & peaceful, the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem. We can’t wait to visit again someday.
Our trip was supposed to be the first for a our young family. Which upon arrival soon went pear shaped with the room the we booked being way to open to the public on the bottom floor next to the entry with 10+ kids jumping upstairs, once we were moved to a king room the real problems started. Better privacy but no hot water for the first night due to a maintenance fault, the spa failed to operate in the room and the balcony is hardly weather proof so it’s impossible to sit outside if it’s raining. COVID lockdown hit during our stay for Brisbane which they then enforced from 10am in the morning so we could not leave our room, visit restaurants or even visit around the island which really messed up our holiday as we have a 7 month old who is constantly crying being stuck in such a small room. The food was good when we did get to eat, the bed unfortunately is uncomfortable and impossible to sleep on with all the springs
I’m hoping the chef was in lockdown or there was some other culinary crisis, because the food was completely inedible. The main restaurant was closed, leaving just a smelly, old fashioned, extortionate buffet. All the tours were cancelled and staff incapable of just basic service.
