Customer service lacking
The actual stay at the hotel was fine, it was after the fact that completely ruined the experience for me. I had paid for my room ($232) plus a security deposit of $100, aware that the $100 would be refunded once everything was in order. I was told this can take up to a week which is understandable. Upon checking my bank account I had noticed I’d been charged not only the $332 but also $232 separately. I called the hotel to question it and the person who answered was so rude. He kept talking over me just repeating that it’s the security deposit, “refresh on Monday and it will be returned” he wouldn’t let me explain that I had been charged twice and more than I was told. I ended up calling my bank and they verified that the hotel had made a mistake and they were holding $332 in a pending transaction and I’d been charged the $232. They advised me that once the hotel leaves it in pending it will eventually be returned to me or they could do an immediate release of funds. I had to then call back the hotel, I ended up asking to speak to someone else who would actually listen. The next lady I spoke to at least had the decency to not interrupt me and rectify the issue to the best of her abilities. Although I still didn’t get a single apology or anything and she just blamed the bank saying it was their issue not the hotels. If the first person I spoke to had just taken the time to listen to me and fix the mistake instead of just speaking over me it would have been a totally different experience. A simple apology, ownership of the mistake and some understanding can go a long way. It’s really unfortunate because the 5 employees I interacted with during my stay were absolutely wonderful. From the moment I walked in the door and checked in to getting a coffee at the cafe downstairs, everyone was courteous and friendly.
Glam r&r for weary mums
I desperately needed some r&r as a working mum. The Pan Pacific did not disappoint. The luxurious room and exceptionally helpful staff made me feel like a celeb. I had 180views of the Swan and had all my meals in bed watching movies. Had a late night drink with a friend at a city bar. Spent the morning at the pool in peace and quiet with a coffee, a book and occasional dip in the pool. Highly recommended for worn and weary mums who need a glam city break.
This is the most welcoming of hotels that I have ever stayed at. I used to stay at the Hyatt Perth (the least welcoming hotel I've ever stayed at....what doorman continues to read his broadsheet newspaper as you walk past him?!) From the moment you step out of your car at the Pan Pacific the team greets and guide you around this great hotel. Lovely rooms, great bathrooms and a bed that induces soporific sleep!
The most terrible hotel I have ever been
Worse service Out dated room and bath amenities (damaged sofa, towels' age more than 1.5 years) Most terrible food we have ever experienced Slow internet speed.. always goes on and off.. weak signal Uncomfortable bed Dirty room carpet, dirty bath
We stayed here on Friday and Saturday. The hotel smelt very clean and the room was clean. The sheets and pillows were clean and looked laundered. The robes and towels were on the hard side but it didn't dampen our stay. The house cleaner was amazing. She was super friendly and bubbly and looked like she really enjoyed her job. At check in we were greeted as soon as we walked through the door by 2 people and check in was done reasonably quickly. The thing I didn't know was that you don't pay before you stay and there was a $200 deposit. A heads up would've been better so I know I needed the money in my account. But honestly it was something minor The only thing that I would probably complain about was the bath water leaked out making us to fill up the bath a few times when we were in there. All in all was a great stay. Ps. A must have is the bacon and egg burger with a coffee. Made our Sunday morning amazing
